Good grief, no sane man would WANT to!

Now that you mention it, not all my ex lovers were sane. As a matter of fact, there was one who was completely doollally. Oh well, I shall keep on basking in my sweet delusion  .

this slave doesn't give Master permission or not as to who He may or may not have sex with, so for this slave, it is a moot point.

who the governor of New York or the former President had sex with is none of this slave's business.

Personally, I think that sort of marriage is often more of a business arrangement/partnership, with the politician's career being the business. To stand by the politician is probably in many cases, better business........up to a point. If the career goes down the toilet and there is no reason to maintain the business partnership, the marriage will probably end also.

Yep I will go with this one cuz think you are bang on target here.   The red face is secondary and something you just suck up and move on.

Actually, if you have balls......of the male sort........., it is a moot point.

What amazes me is the sight of these women dutifully standing next to their husbands as they humiliate themselves into abject public apologies for their sexual forthcomings.

I would have told him to fuck off, and to face the crowd on his own. But I'm a selfish, cruel, evil woman.

I always figure that they're doing it for the sake of their families, to save face somehow to the world ('cause really, it's humiliating to have your spouse accused of something like this), and probably because they're still in shock themselves at the fall from grace.

The governor's wife looked absolutely shell-shocked to me.  I'm surprised she could pick out a coordinating scarf to wear to the press conference!

Greetings:

I know most of you have heard about the scandal involving the New York Senator and his $80,000 prostitute ring.
My question to women and men alike is where do we draw the line when our spouse is caught cheating?
His wife stood by him, or at least stood up there with him.  The poor thing was in shock.  I am sure she did this as part of the job as First Lady of New York.
She should have been allowed to speak.  When Hillary stood by Bill, we knew she was probably going to beat him up when he got home, or she did not care.  This lady appeared to be in shock as I was when I caught my ex cheating.
It was bad enough to go through it with my small family, but for the entire country to know, it would have been devestating.
What do you think?

Regards, MissSCD

Hillary didn't care.  Bill was her mealticket and VIP pass into politics.

What bothers me about this situation was the expectation that she should be "Dumping that lying cheating bastard" as if it's any of our business.  The man is guilty of a misdemeanor.  Losing his position as governor is on par with firing the CEO of a major corporation for cheating on his income taxes.  The impact it has on his wife is NONE of the public's business.  Nobody elected his wife to be First Lady; her involvement in this situation is pointless.

Additionally, the assumption that she should be 'allowed' to speak is false.  She is allowed to speak.  She could write a book, spun off into a miniseries "the Governor, the whore, and I" or whatever she wants to do.  That she chooses to handle a private family situation with dignity and grace speaks much of her own character.  That we as a nation are howling for his blood because he was unfaithful sounds more like the social direction to bring back the Roman gladiatorial games.  Everyone loves seeing blood fly; the bigger the man, the more blood in his body I guess.

Who said any of this stuff here? And if they did, I guess they have a right to an opinion as well.
It *is* the public's business, because they *made* it the public's business.
If you are in public office, it's probably a good idea to keep your pants up around everyone except for your spouse.
Otherwise, you're flirting with public humiliation and disgrace.
For you and your family.
I'm not saying she should or should not stay with him. That is for her to decide. But don't think that I, and many others will not be watching to see what happens.
's human nature.

Nah, the media makes it our business.  Sex scandels in politics sells.  This case is an example of the double standard we hold our political heroes to.

No offense, but I don't think you're watching what happens to him because you idolized him or taught your children to be like him.  Blood is flying, and everyone wants to gawk.  Just because we can see a gangbang going on over our neighbors fence, doesn't mean we're entitled to watch it.

~FR~ to no one in particular...

I personally don't understand the fascination with celebrity, and even less do I understand the apparent facination with celebrity train wrecks.

For all we know she may have encouraged him to go to a prostitute (i mean...just looking at him...ew.) It is unlikely, but possible. As been said here already, the children are the ones i feel so very sorry for.

Here's the thing though... I don't give a flying duck's fuck whether the man went and had sessions with a pro' - that's between him and his wife (and let's face it, she has a right to be angry  ). It also smells a little like a witch hunt, but who cares... What bothers me a little is that Spitzer made his name as an investigator of organised crime, financial crime and prostitution.

You'll agree that considering his career objectives, his doing the dirty dance with a hooker is a bit much to stomach  . It's natural that it should have held himself to the same high standards he "expected" of others. Non?

KittenSol,

I can't agree more.

As do I.

And yep, Stephan, the reason I'll be watching isn't because I want my children to emulate him.
I'm just a student of human nature, and I find it fascinating.

Most of these high profile political wives know going in that these men will have an affair or two along the way. It is just a part of the game, hence why I think they don't over react to it. I think the biggest upset to them is the fact that if and when he gets caught, then the world will be looking at her going..why isn't she upset?

Personally when I found out my ex was cheating on me, I didn't get upset. I particularly didn't get upset at the person he was messing with, it wasn't her fault as she hadn't taken any vows to me. It was all him. So I got myself a boyfriend, then when he found out HE blew up. I just laughed and told him I knew about his girlfriend and he shut up real quick. Later on he told me that he thought it was ok for a man to cheat as long as he didnt get caught, but a wife was a different story.

Pretty much a constant in this world. Men are studs; women are whores  .

It's very difficult to sort out the truth in this kind of shit....

Remember gay governor McGreevey? His wife was outraged...Now this comes out.

http://www.nypost.com/seven/03172008/news/regionalnews/i_was_mcg_and_wifes_three_way_sex_stud___102326.htm

March 17, 2008 -- A former driver and aide to former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey yesterday made the bombshell claim that Dina Matos McGreevey must have always known her husband was gay - because he was the other man in bed with them.

His wife has denied the accusations...Who is lying who's telling the truth? Do we really even care?
