I once worked for a non-profit who had a donor named Randy Beaver. That remains my all time favorite unusual name. It would have been even funnier had it been a woman....

Used to work for a foster care agency and one family had named each daughter after Japanese electronics, i.e., Toshiba, Hitachi, etc. The son had a normal name strangely enough.

My cousin named his daughter Holley, normally I think it's a nice name but she was named after a
car part...the Holley carburetor, he even spelled it the same.

there was a famous singer who named his son his majesty or something like that, and there was an entire vh1 session on bad names celiebrities had given their kids.

I once worked somehwere where one of the customers was named Dick Overpeck. I had to put him on hold and laugh every time he called. If I were him, I would have gone by Richard.

We also have a family locally with the last name of Slutts. They thankfully did not have any girls.

I have the best one!! My Aunt who is a retired English teacher, figured the best way to see China on the Cheap was to teach English in one of thier schools. Signed a contact for a semester and off she went.

Seem that the Chinese now have a habit of giving their kids both Chinese names and English names so that they can have a name that is pronucable in English speaking countries.

My aunt ran into John, and Jack, and Cindy normal names. Then She ran into a kid who's parents gave him the English name of SCOOBY DO!!

This thread reminded me of that Steve Martin movie, The Jerk..... he names his dog Shithead.

This one was a nickname.
When I was in the USCG we had a guy with a pointy nose like Pinnocio and a hairline like Dracula.
So,...we combined the two and came up with, "Pinnaccula."

I went to school with a Freedom (girl) and a Sunrise(male, his parents were definitely hippies). I've also known a Candy Kane, poor girl.

It's not a strange name by itself, Morgan, but the whole name...Morgan B.Morgan III. That's my half brothers name.
Poor kid, i call him Cubey.
That's all i got for my weird names.

When I was working at my old job, I had to design business cards for a woman named Velvet Bridges.

My first thought when I got the order was "...strippers have business cards now?" but turns out she's a mechanical engineer of some sort.

I went to school with Crystal Ball. My parents friend, Lou Sass (say it out loud). A customer at a place I used to work, Precious ( a nice, but very large middle aged black man). And a couple I know named their daughter Aleepa Faith. I know more, but these seem to be the top ones, lol.

God's truth: when I was a kid (around 7-8) a friend of my Mom's had 2 kids (boy and girl) a little younger than me. I forget which was which: Sunbeam and Moonbeam. Obviously, the 60s were 'good' to those parents ....
Hmm... I'm gonna have to call Mom and ask her if she remembers which was which...
