make a rational argument, and then I will respond. Then YOU can respond to what I said...

Archer is correct, one needs to know what`s in your heart to know if you`re homophobic or not.

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck i feel no need assume it is not a duck.
Just my two cents...

True,very true.In most cases you`d be right.

But how often do poorly chosen words or gaffs paint an un-bigoted person, as one?

Or a caring person as someone callous,a religious soul as someone cursing god, etc? It`s easy to do.

Especially with the IM/chat room/post/text mode of communication we use.

I think we should give the lad a chance to explain and expand on what he thinks.

Nice to see there are other hate-mongers here like me. Many good points here on the board. My point was, that there was no discussion upon my disagreement. I was immediately accused of gay-bashing. Makes me wonder, if your that sensitive to legitimate points of view, perhaps your having trouble justifying your own position.

Why is it the small minded majority is unable to make a rational argument. They resort to name calling instead of soaking up some knowledge and different perspectives. This is the downfall of what was once a great country. So much for the sharing of thoughts and ideas and cultures.

Perhaps we should seize an empty mexican town and start Collarmeville. Oh there I go bashing the mexicans...I need help

The legitimate view regarding this subject as well as other along this vein is the inherant disregard for the need to have basic equality straight across the board. Too many people blatantly disregard the fact that these so called minority groups are NOT trying to force the rest of the breeding society to think like we do, what is wanted is acceptance without prejudice even if you do not personally agree with who and what we are.
That is what Rosa Parks' wanted when she refused to move to the back of the bus. That is what the the drag queens wanted that caused them to incite the Stonewall riots. The bloody list goes on and on. But basically, what these people wanted was to be treated fair and equal, they wanted to be accorded the same rights an privileges that every straight breeder is automatically given at birth. We do not want special privileges, we do not want special treatment. All we want is to know that we can walk down the street with our lover holding hands and not fear the we will be badly beaten or killed.
Just so some of you people know, not all of us fags/queers/ want to get married, we just want to the right to be able to choose that option, plain and simple.

Let's see the op is from Fla and good ol' LovingDom is from Texas. What do they put in the water in Texas that produces people who have such a tremendous insight into the world that surrounds them?

As far as the op goes....lol. I'm sure you will find some uptight, uneducated, hate filled domme that will take you on...Just like two peas in a pod.

In some circles "breeder" is used a derogatory term.

boytoy - a question; I'm a male to female transsexual, now - would it be OK for me to
a) marry a woman?
b) marry a man?

because the whole gay/lesbian marriage thing, in my opinion anyway, only came to be in the UK at least because the EU insisted that the UK catch up with the rest of Europe (except Albania) and recognised our gender changes.

Now right now, because I dont have a Gender Recognition Certificate, I still count as male for the purposes of marriage - and I could marry a woman without a problem.

But once I get that piece of paper and my Birth Certificate is changed too, I then count as female for the purposes of marriage, and I cannot marry a woman, but I can marry a man. And I can get the Gender Recognition Certificate without having reassignment surgery.

If I can effectively marry (and thats marry properly, not enter into a Civil Partnership as has been arranged for gay men and lesbians) anyone I wish, dependent on whether I apply for a piece of paper - how can it make any sense whatsoever, to forbid a man marrying a man, or a woman marrying a woman?

Of course most of American government doesnt want gay marriage. Why? because its unholy? No! It adds a larger chunk that Businesses small and large will have to pay. now they have the family of the hetro couple. But to have the partner of gay couples will indeed cost more. less profit. Less profit, umhappy businesses. That in turn means less contributions to those in office. Also, lobbyists of big business lobby against this kind of stuff.

I know that.

It`s such a base term.

It`s also used by men, who hate women.

In some ways that is exactly the same mentality of the Canadian gov't. Yet if you strip the bs from the arguements the Canadain gov't used to try to stop legalizing same sex marriages, it is the religious sector that was the behind it all. Even now, our useless excuse for a PM is using his personal views to push his agenda to reverse a right we fought for nearly 20 years to have.

i was only teasing bear, the term breeders makes me laugh, takes quite a bit more than that to offend me.   i know bear did not mean it in a derogatory way at all, that is why i could not resist teasing him a bit over the term.

Why the hell would they want to get married?

Fifty percent of marriages end in miserable failure.

I'll settle for gratuitous spanky panky any day.

You will feel the way you feel for whatever reasons you do.

Then one day you will wake up, smack yourself in the head and say,

"Wow, I could have had a V-8."

Why? because there are something like 1,000 rights that get instantly conveyed to your spouce without addtional leal fees when you record your legal marriage.
Right of survivorship being one of the top desired rights
Right to be considered next of kin for medical decissions being right up there with that one.
Cost to register the same 1,000 + legal rights with the courts without marriage is well over 1,000 times the cost of a marriage liscence.

most important -- affordable health insurance for your spouse

and in some states, like the one I live in, even a legal agreement does not protect me... the state doesn't recognize it...

Yeah, and she took the 1000 rights in her little hand bag when we divorced.
