i was just listening to the radio & they mentioned that today it is 5 years to the day since forces went into Iraq, i kinda just wanted to say whether you agree or disagree with this war, please take a few minutes to remember the soldiers & their families today.

Status: offline 		I hate all wars, but what's happening in Iraq is particularly senseless. (They still haven't found those pesky weapons of mass destruction  .)

I can only hope the situation is resolved to the best possible outcome.  Can't be any more succint than that. But something tells me, the thread will go on...

Status: offline 		Of all the major presidential contenders, none of them intend to actually leave Iraq. None of them are actually anti-war candidates. All three receive significant funding from the military industrial complex - esp. Clinton and McCain.

Pathetic.

Of course, I blame the American electorate who can name the stars of American Idol but probably didn't know the fact stated above.

I bet even less know that they are ALL memebers of the council of foreign relations and do not work for our government as much as they do for a world government.

Going back to the original topic of this thread: I want the war in Iraq to end, for the mission in Afghanistan to have an achievable aim and a timetable, and would like to see high levels of troop support when they return in the form of job retraining, medical and psychological services, etc. We have to reintegrate the troops back into our society and welcome them with open arms.

Even if you oppose the wars, as I do, the individuals fighting it are not to blame. Care-taking for these men and women is part of the cost of war and I am tired of them being treated sub-standardly as compared to say CheneyCare, for which see:

Status: offline 		Churro, it seems to me that you think Ron paul would eliminate the IRS, the ATF, the FBI and social security in one day. The guy is not that stuid, and even if he was he would not be able to do it.

Ron Paul is not ver adept at public speaking, and I wish he was about twenty years younger, because the shit is really going to hit the fan and after tht the sheeple might be ready for some real change.

Maybe you can show me, or tell me on which point he is a fucktard. Anything but abortion. I completely disagree with him on that one issue, well not completely but close. But which republicans are for abortion ? We HAVE a republican President for seven years and abortions are still legal.

Face it kiddies, we are going to be in Iraq for 100 years no matter what anyone says. That is unless the economy collapses entirely. Of course that is a real possibility.

How so?    He has an awesome conservative, (not neo con), real conservative voting record, he voted against this war, (was blamed to be unpatrioatic for it), took loads of heat to support many of the same things you do!

What I do not get is how you complain about the money system, excessive taxation, no money to afford health care, the war etc etc and then the only person aside from gravis and kucinich that is willing to take a chunk out of the status quo in the right direction to fix the problem you call a fucktard.  Whats up with that?

MCcain is a traitor, shit they didnt even torture him and he told them anything they wanted to know, (hence the name "Songbird"),  clinton had their cozy little arkansas drug cartel, sex ring and more, oblama cant even say the pledge of alliegence wihtout crossing his fingers, and finally they are all members of the CFR.

Now I know paul is not for your universal health care but then who do you think is going to make all the money on that deal?  The very people you complain about!   I am not saying that paul is perfect, no candidate is but he looks like an angel compared to the rest of the cesspool.

So I dont get your position man.  Protecting our constitution imo should be first on everyones list but unfortunately it seems protecting entitlements always wins out.

The soldier volunteers his unconditional service, even if it costs him his life.

Regardless of the merit of government policy, the soldier merits only honor and glory for his service.

Or, to borrow from the Bard, "if his cause be wrong, our obedience to the king wipes the crime of it out of us." (Henry V, Act IV, scene i)

That is the answer to your question.

The fault lies, NorthernGent, in the leader who sent them there. Not with the troops who are doing their duty. And I daresay that not only will Bush be held responsible ultimately for our losses, but those of the coalition, and those innocent Iraq civilians who got killed by being in the line of fire. Blame the leader who was too much of an idiot to see he was attacking the wrong country. Who wanted to wage a "pre-emptive war" against a soverign nation, one that had NOTHING to do with the 9/11 attacks.

If Hell exists, then Buch, Cheany, Rumsfeld, and Rove should be sweating their balls off right now. They are truly damned for the total waste they have saddled us with.
