I had been informed,quite a while ago by a 3 year old neighbor, that I obviously dont know my colors. She is African descent, from Kenya, and very dark skinned. I am American indian and eastern european and very light skinned. When she asked me why our skins were different coors, I told her "Well, you are black and I am white" She gave me a very strange look, stepped out in the sunshine to inspect her own arms, and then came bak to me. "Didnt you learn colors in school?" "Of course I did" "Well," she pats me on the hand. "I am not black. I am BROWN. And you arent white." She points to a page of note paper on my seat. "Thats white. You are a kind of pinky peach." And with that, in typical 3 year old fashion, she turned and found something more amusing. She did, however, run back over, hug my legs and tell me I'd make a really pretty crayon. DV the Pinky Peach one

I don't know about "pride" in my heritage I mean my people wearn't "royal" or anything like that. On my father's side they were farmers from Donegal up on the Inishowen Peninsula. On my mother's they were farmers from Sligo. I like going over for a visit every few years because those places are just so stunningly beautiful! I mean breath taking! Look up some pics of "Ben Bulben" in Sligo and just about anything in Donegal. Caitlyn, maybe you should have one of those DNA tests done! They swab the inside of your mouth and they can trace where you came from or something like that. I don't understand all that "pride in your race" stuff. Sounds like "feel good" psycho- babble to me.

I'm German/Dutch and Scotch Irish - I believe i'm 100 proof I have a horrible temper can't hold my booze research taught me I come from horse thieves then much later people who bootlegged booze .My relatives left Europe then called themselves Pennsylvania Dutch . I've been told my ancestors were religious zealots founded Amish communities along with mennonite sects the story goes it was after all the illegal acts they found religion and became pure of heart and mind . I don't tan I burn so i'd have to say i'm whitey do freckles count? if so i'm speckled
