mtl1466 -> What makes you an "Expert" (3/26/2008 6:38:10 PM)

As we all know theres a few options we can take when updating/creating our profile.  One of which is "expert" now what qualifies one to be an "expert"? I mean technically I'm an "expert" at political science since its my minor in school and know more so than the average person, and will have my degree to prove it, but theres no degree that comes with collars and watersports so my question is how do you know when youre an "expert" in a bdsm activity? Since Im young I hope to reach that status in multiple catergories by 35 [;)]

Don't know that I like the word "expert" so much, since I think there should ALWAYS be room to expand and learn more - but know that is a label within the profile options. I would think if you are very experienced and others may feel comfortable coming to you for advice, or would value your opinion on the subject based on your level of experience you could classify yourself an expert in something - at least for this purpose.

Having Done it with somene in real life.

Rather than reading about it, and thinking it's the same.

You mean it's not the same? But...but...but it had pictures and everything!

Of course, just because someone has "done" something in real life doesn't mean they're any good at it. [:D]

LadyPact -> RE: What makes you an "Expert" (3/26/2008 7:29:43 PM)

Well, I was going to say practice, but I thought that might be too simplistic of an answer.

It can, if they have any competency; some are hopeless.

I woud say that one does have to do, in order to have a chance at being an "expert". Someone can type "thwap thwap thwap" all day long, I guess they can become good typists.

Good god woman, are you trying to end people's worlds or what? A practical suggestion? [;)]

Worried now...i have both a computer and a box of Kleenex...in fact i have two boxes of Kleenex...does that mean i'm not weel?
