Status: offline 		Do you believe in thanking your submissive/slave?  If yes, how so and how often.  If not, why?

Status: offline 		Sorry I realize you were asking Mistress's. But I guess it would depend on the kind of relationship it would be.
Master always thanks me. From the smallest thing, from preparing him a coffee, to during and after making love. He thanks me for just being me, and spending my time with him. Its his way of saying he loves me, as he can not express those words, but he can express his warmth, and appreciation.
However he does not not thank me during a scene, nor does he thank me for having to punish me. I could imagine there would be Masters who operate very different.

It's the way I was brought up. Good manners and appreciation were everything.

Status: offline 		A little pat on the back or rump is all i need.If a Domina wishes to give me the audio version that is ok too.Perhaps bosses can learn a few things.In the thirty years i worked,not once was i thanked for my job.And at the rate corporate America is spiraling down,i am not surprised.

Status: offline 		When I do something good or surprise my Master by thinking ahead he always tells me "I'm so proud of you." and it always makes me feel really good.

I think its all depending on the sub/slave. Some sub/slaves want/need the positive encouragement when they do something right. Some want you to always find fault in what they have done because they don't want to feel worthy of your praise until they have really blown your mind by something they did for you. Does that make sense to you?

Another way of saying it is some subs/slaves want you to be loving with them, while others just want you to treat them like shit all the time. You just need to figure out what style is best for you and your sub/slave. Figure out what your style is and find a slave that likes that same style.

Status: offline 		I'm in the habit of thanking anyone who does something for Me, no matter what that is.  I've also found that, with My current sub, I have a tendency to say things like 'thank you for My smiles today'.  It doesn't always have to be something he does.  Just the fact that he's in My life.

Status: offline 		I thank all my boys.  Especially when they do nice things without being told, make me an extra lovely toy, or do physical labor for me (fix the car, mow the grass) then they are thanked repeatedly and rewarded with tenderness.    Do I thank them for allowing me to use and abuse them?  No.  That's not the correct time.

Status: offline 		I believe in trying to have the best manner possible. And part of that is thanking people when they have done something nice. I’m an equal opportunity “thanker” therefore my sub would be included in that. I’d also say I believe in saying please as well after all please is just another way of being polite.

Status: offline 		I don't think being dominant equals being rude so I thank Fox for things that he does well and for service that I notice.

Notice here is a key concept because as my slave there are many things he does that he hopes I don't notice because if I did that meant he wasn't doing as good a job as helping me with mundane matters so I can focus on my writing and academic career.

Beyond being polite, thanking someone is good positive feedback and most subs I've trained and all slaves I've owned thrive on positive feedback far more than negative feedback or punishment.

Status: offline 		Of course!  I say 'Thank you' for particularly well-done jobs and little surprises they've done for me, and 'good dog' for prompt obedience.  When they say something insightful, kind or witty in public, they get a little pat and/or a 'you are SOOOO going to get fucked in a good way' look.   I don't deal with sam's, so no worries about disobedience for the sake of being corrected.  I also don't know why vanillas consider it impolite to say 'thanks for the orgasm'!

Otherwise, 'thank you' works equally well in the outside world.  Try it the next time with a harrassed worker:  mean it and say it while putting your hand on their desk until they look up, startled and defensive, and when they finally make eyecontact, smile.  They blush and melt, and the knees of cute young guys buckle.  Cyute!

Status: offline 		Mistress always thanks me for things I do for Her.  It didn't matter if I held doors open for Her, pulled out Her chair at a table, fetched a glass of water, taking a serious flogging with a nasty red flogger, or bought Her something, She never hesitated to thank me.  It's shows She really loves and cares about me and appreciates my efforts.  To me, nothing makes a subby happier than knowing he/she is appreciated and loved.  It makes me want to do more and more for Her.

Her new favorite discovery is that fact that doors open by themselves when She was around me.  When She got back to West Virginia, She realized that She had to open all the doors there Herself.  Based on that single fact, She said She wants to come back to the wonderful place where all Her doors are opened for Her!
