Fischen -> RE: How do you like to be approached on here (4/7/2008 10:46:00 AM)

Personally, I've never found there to be any "Best Practices" on picking up anyone. While yeah, some methods are a heck of a lot better than others, it all depends on who you want to find, at least as far as personality goes. It doesn't do you any good to send a nice detailed and personalized letter to someone who bases whom they pick and choose by looks alone. It doesn't do you any good to send poetry to someone, (who might end up actually liking it), if you aren't any good at poetry. As far as the spellchecker nazi's are concerned, while I understand their point, there are some perfectly good folks out there who quite honestly can't write a letter to save their lives, and those folks would pass them by simply because they don't know when to use to, too, or two (U no wat I mene?). And as far as all the folks who write showing off their tallywackers, there are a lot of OTHER people out there that go, OMG, a 15 inch schlong, I'd love to talk to him. When I first created a profile on ALT, I got a letter from some guy who wrote, "I'd love to f*** your wife while you licked the c** from my a**" ... Now, while this isn't something that has me jumping for joy, I am totally positive that SOMEWHERE along the line, he got some letter back from someone saying, "Golly that sounds like a darn good time to me". Moral of the Story -- Be true to yourself, do what makes you happy, and send any type of letter you perfectly well choose. With just the teeniest bit of patience (and enough letters), the right person will fall right into your lap. Fischen
