Misstoyou -> RE: Nicks // why that one? (4/7/2008 11:54:51 PM)

As I've posted more than once, though some submissives still don't seem to get it, mine's an IQ test. [sm=writing.gif]

ShellyD -> RE: Nicks // why that one? (4/8/2008 12:39:42 AM)

Shelly as it is a part of my name and D for the rounding off. I have been using it on all online groups for about 8 years now, surprisingly it is quite common and I have had to put numbers behind it on some groups. Although I don't come up in a google search, a number of other ShellyD's do. Interestingly also is that I capitalised it originally as it was correct grammar/spelling and I have been given dominant status on many occasions....

MistressOfGa -> RE: Nicks // why that one? (4/8/2008 1:23:06 AM)

Hmmm...I suppose mine is self explanatory as well. Some have asked if I was the Mistress of all of Georgia...pfttt...I am a Mistress, I hail from Georgia. I rather like MoGa, and at times have considered officially changing it to MoGa on cm, but really..why bother? Although, when Michael changed his name to Michael of Georgia, some actually thought we were one and the same, as his initials are now MoGa too lol but I doubt he will ever use those initials. For those who still wonder...NO, I am not Michael, and he is not me and we look nothing alike.

I have other screen names that I use elsewhere, but for security reasons I do not disclose them. It would embarrass my neice who is extremely well known.

MoGa

This thread can apply to both sides of mthe slash as it focuses on persona not gender.
sometime , just review the Nicks used here on CM or Alt, or Bondage and ponder why that was chosed to represent the person behind it.

Dominants in the larger majority seem to feel a need to present an aura or macho bad as in some context and lately I see many subs proundly refering to themselves as some form of strength or brat persona, yet when one gets an opportunity to get to know these folks better, the nick just does not match the person.

Any thoughts?

CP

Alas, the "Sir" in my ID has nothing do with D/s. Sir John Mandeville is regardly as the most successful hoaxer of the 14th Century, having written a very popular journal of his travels and "discoveries" -- virtually all of which he made up! I adopted the ID because I like to think I'm playing my own magnificent hoax on the vanilla world....

Besides, I figured "Hugh G. Rection" was taken.... [:D]

While trying to register a name with CM I got into a [sm=oddballs.gif] match with them . They did'nt want to hear it [sm=lalala.gif]    I thought it was totaly [sm=lame.gif]. So I asked everyone else for their [sm=2cents.gif]. But that was a bust [sm=sigh.gif]  After hitting my head  [sm=banghead.gif] I decided [sm=fingers.gif]. So here I am stuck with no name.

Poetryinpain -> RE: Nicks // why that one? (4/8/2008 6:58:54 AM)

MoGa! I'm glad to see you back posting again. Your nick on a post ensures a good read.[hug and smooch]

I was on here under a different nick (nope, not gonna tell you), but for several reasons decided it didn't fit me anymore. Besides the acronym from its initials was rather - um - unfortunate.

pip, liking this one better

It is'nt Hugh Grant. It is Lou Grant of Mary Tyler Moore show.

softpjOS -> RE: Nicks // why that one? (4/8/2008 11:13:38 AM)

*tosses two more into the ring*

softpj-  well i've been "pj" forever.  my initials and a nick name given to me when i was a tiny tot.  most sites will not allow two letter "nicks" so i had to add something to it.  Soft because 1) who doesn't like soft pajamas (nudists excluded of course lol) and 2) because i'm terribly soft hearted.

Mistress's name "OriginalStuff" well, She IS most "Original", never simply following the crowd, She is very independant and has a very Original style.  "Stuff" well, She likes a song by Offspring and the name "OriginalPlayStuff" was too long for one of the first sites She joined so She shortened it to "OriginalStuff"

When i had Her initials added to my tattoo the artist asked why "OS".  Not wishing to explain our relationship especially since Her son was standing beside me, i smiled and said...  well when i first got the tattoo my husbands reaction was "OH SHIT" so...it's a joke on him.

Thats my story and i'm stickin to it!

Aylee,

And the reason you chose it isssssssss?

CP

Do you mean like there is something deep within myself that identifies with the character?  Some sort of emotional bond?  Something that speaks to me?

Nope.

Yes, I like the character, I like Kiki (the hyperactive ferret, same strip) even better, but it was taken.  But, no, there is no deeper meaning.

I am just not that creative, and so when I was trying to come up with a UID, it popped into my head to try them to see if they were available.

My UID is nothing more than an alias for a forum board.  (Yes, my birth name was also taken.)  It is not my identity.  A name is just a name.  Why can't everyone imagine other identities, other names for oneself, without internal damage?

Yes, it could represent a myrid of things.  But, in this case it represents that I read an online comic.
