Am so pleased another asked the WTF question!!! I thought glory holes began as a gay thing...? Where men who for some reason or another hadn't come out as gay could have sex anonymously. I remember hearing someplace that restrooms along the highways were very popular in that respect. Until the cops caught on to that, heheh..

I've noticed some commenters have linked glory holes with anal sex. While it can be done, the primary sex mode is either oral or hand job. But regardless, it's a very high risk practice unless you know everyone and everyone is tested beforehand.

Glory holes are a myth and Old Guard dominants starting out as bottoms had nothing to do with supplying fresh young meat. I say that as someone who has hung out in gay bars LONG before I was legal and was sitting at The Stud in SF the other night drinking with some leatherman. Poor girl has hooked up with someone who has confused hot fantasy with a rather lethal reality. Not being judgemental, I am genuinely surprised so many people don't know what a glory hole is. Maybe it's just my dirty mind or being exposed to the concepts of such practices from a young age... Just to lighten the mood, anyone remember the scene in The Sweetest Thing where Cameron Diaz gets poked in the eye with a penis when trying to see what's in a glory hole? Lol a lesson for all those unaware of such things- if you see a hole in the wall, don't put various body parts near the vicinity. Ahh, good times...

My only slip up was in assuming the sarcasm about glory holes was obvious. It is one of the many reasons I laugh when I read people pontificating about the nobility, honor, etc of the "old guard" by people who have never been around gay men nor read any of the writings from that era.

Thank you Emperor. Any fantasy can be carried out safely, while making a few compromises. You just have to be creative. Think like you are making a movie, and are dealing with actors. Stunts are make believe. No one is getting their heads blown off, but damn it looks like it(and likely would feel like it if you were behind the trigger). Some fantasies are elaborate, and would require alot of planning. Others are quite simple. There are plenty of ways to safely scene with a glory hole. 1. Use trusted and clean men 2. Use dildos in place of the real thing(they even make ones that ejaculate) 3. Keep in mind, this is a 21-year-old with a screwy sense of humor talking, but I always thought the decrease in popularity for glory holes came not just from fear of AIDS but the increase in popularity for Lou Reed. i would suggest you educate yourself and her, make sure that you both understand truly the implications of a "glory hole" and the emotions that may come along with that. Fantasizing about being a slut and actually being made one, are two very different things and carry with them a lot of mental and emotional baggage. It can be a lot for someone who has never done it before. That is the least of which is concerning STI's and other nasty things that she may catch. My suggestion do not do it unless or until you are both educated, and understand that this is something that may serve to drive a wedge between you. Take care of her.
