So am I what? What are you trying to say? I have a reasonable command of English, and I cannot figure out that you are mumbling about. 

Dunno if you have noticed, but I never claimed to have any knowledge of some group of people wandering around after WWII calling themselves "The Old Guard". If you have direct knowledge, I'm sure there are many people who would like to talk to you.

I don't give a fuck what you have read somewhere on some website. I did what I did, I saw what I saw, and that's all there is to it. It's hardly likely you were in any of the bathhouses back then.

      Haven't noticed that my d/s world is particularly hetero-but you hit the nail on the head when we all assumed it wasn't safe, protected sex he was suggesting. A few people did make slightly phobic comments, but I don't think that was the reason no one else shouted, "Hooray, glory holes!"

      Perhaps because the OP's post sounded merely like a wanking fantasy, we assumed that he wasn't intending to be safe about acting out what he imagined...

       I guess as far as YKINMY goes, most of the people on the board draw the line at what could potentially be a uncontrolled, dangerous situation. We assume the OP is ignorant or underestimating the risks instead of simply ignoring them because it's hard to believe someone could willingly put their sub in that much danger from potential STDs and such.

Mmmmm seeing that Im old enought to know. I never used glory holes but I was with friends that did. There was no aids then. It was a cheap way for guys to get off. Now days I would'nt recommend it.

glory holes = lifetime ban from giving blood.  ever.

my ex husband used to frequent the news/bookstores in houston in the 80's.  because i had unprotected sex with him (and thank the gods caught nothing) i am now banned for life from giving blood.  puts *me* in "high risk behavior" category.

Since you were in diapers when the gay leathermen came out of WWII and became the Old Guard, you have no more direct knowledge of them than I do.

And no, I didn't hang out in gay bath houses in the late 60's and 70's, but in gay bars and dance clubs with all my friends from Fire Island Pines, many of whom were the original leathermen as well as bridge partners of my mother and who spoke freely about their lives.

I grew up in a gay community before Stonewall. I was welcome in my teens at wild parties and told when the punch was spiked with acid to go home. Part of my various 'uncles' attempts to protect me was not to hide any of the exigencies of their lives because knowledge is power. I was given explicit details.

Most of them are dead now and I mourn for them. And I'm still going out to the Pines every summer, which is where the FIP in my name comes from.

It was a hard piece to write since no one point of view seemed to do it justice.  Finally I settled on the multiple approach.  I hope that wasn't too confusing.  Of course, reality is a bit messier than a nice fiction story, but I didn't have to change too much this time

That can be seen as a feature rather than a bug.  If you go in for an operation make sure the surgeon knows this.  That way he won't be holding a scalpel and getting dollar signs in his eyes.  It will make you more of a patient to him and less of a walking organ bank.

In my opinion a real glory hole fantasy is better kept a fantasy. If you can find away to organize it in a safer way without all sorts of strangers would be safer but not entirely safe.

"The whole glory hole thing" was probably invented many times in many places around the world. Ways to touch others through holes or gaps in stall walls in bathrooms and in movie booths in porn shops have been around for a very long time, as have ways to signal others that you may share an interest.
The term glory hole became widely used as the quarter booths in porn shops spread around the country in the 60's and '70's. Often there would be graffitti on the screen telling which booth number to go to if you might be interested in giving or receiving hand or oral contact. A few places had holes big enough for intercourse. Those involved were usually males, though in some areas hookers would recruit customers this way too, and lead them off to a nearby sleazy hotel with rooms by the hour. Usually the men were people who would not admit to any gay leanings, but who wanted a free warm intimate touch. Lots of times male subs seeking humiliation who had no partners interested in domming them would go to such a place as much for the humiliation as much or more than for the sexuality.
