I can't help but wonder... I read the comments made here and there seems to be a central theme...

Bush sucks, government sucks, politicians suck, if the republicans win the election we're all gonna die, if the democrats win the election we're all gonna die, everyone is lying, everyone is lying about lying, every hates the Americans, Americans hate everyone else, the Middle East is falling apart, Europe is gone to hell in a hand basket, gas prices are going through the roof, taxes are getting higher, soon no one will be able to afford food... if there's any to be bought, the world is dying from greenhouse gases but we'll all die first from global warming, but we won't care cause we'll all be living in the streets cause it's a global conspiracy and corporate America is raping us, and we'll all lose our jobs, and it's all Bush's fault, and Bush sucks.

lol... And I've even left out all the laments about sucky doms and wannabe subs.

Sheesh folks... is everyone that miserable?

It's not that people are miserable, it's that the world absolutely sucks  .

Why do you think I started the "Pay it Forward" thread which has now suffered an early demise.

Fact is, bad things tend to have a bigger impact than good ones. And they're strangely more frequent too. It's always been like this, as far as I remember. There was never a 'golden age' when everyone was twee-tweeting with the little birdies up in the trees. Was there?

Life's a bitch, then... mouahahahahahahaha.

PS: oh, and Treasure? Bush sucks ass big time. But you already knew that :-) .

Everything is beautiful
in its own way
from the summer starry nights
to the snow covered winter day.

Every day has the capacity to be the best day you have ever had in your life, you get to decide if this is the best, or if there have been others that were better.  Don't rely on someone else to figure out if you are happy or not.  It is really a decision you can only make for yourself.

Having said that "don't worry, be happy" is even hypocritical.

Even tho many now look at the 50's as a wonderful time .. it is hindsight ... during the 50s people still had complaints ... it is the nature of the beast so to speak...... and Im using that just as an example...... not saying I think that was the ideal time etc etc etc

My life is pretty good.
But judging by the way some people post about their lives, they are in misery and their lives suck (and not in the fun way).  I guess it's easier for them to react on a message board than to do something proactive about their situation.  I find some of their misery amusing because it is nothing more than their stupidity at work.

My personal life is excellent.

I feel its one of the duties of citizenship to intelligently talk about matters of public policy to everyone's mutual betterment. Things aren't great but they could be far better. Example: leaving my neighborhood one day this last week, I saw a piece of cardboard pasted to the fence lining the freeway, it read: "God hates Faggots." You be the judge of how well we are doing our job when such a thing represents the views of some of one's neighbors.

Personally, I look forward to every day. I wish everyone could feel as I do and I want to help my fellow citizens in every way possible to make that possible for them too.

Let's be mature. Let's be realistic. It helps no one to play at being either an ostrich or a Pollyanna.

This is Darcy

Yes, it could be argued (and proved, even) that on the whole the world pretty much sucks these days, but your own life is what you make it, and the life I am currently leading is very satisfying indeed. I have a wonderful partner, great friends, and it seems that each time we meet new people (from here this means GT, SD and RM), they turn out to be awesome people and people that I am honoured to say that I am acquainted with.

You can choose to wallow among the swine in this life, or you can grasp the few and far between diamonds and hang onto them. I know which I'm doing......

Critism can be a gift. It can lead to improvement.

we  all will die.

how often in a day do you decide you need blank.  [too hot, too cold, hungry, late, horny, tired, awake]

nothing is never anyones fault ever.

machines are taking over.   one day we may not be able to control them.

there is a beauty in being content.  if "someday" you will be happy, you never will.

The darkest hours, before the coming of the dawn, are always the scariest; for it is where our greatest demons lie in waiting, for our arrival.

It is often thought that they are the greatest, because they are the worst. The truth is; they are only meant to help us appreciate the light once it arrives. For there is not greater curse, then lying to one’s self.

Truth, is the one foundation you can build anything on, and rest assured, it will not shift in time. As long as we continue to try to build on quicksand; I will continue to protest.

Just a messanger.

I wasn't there, but I've heard it said that life was pretty good for awhile, then everything started going to shit when agriculture was invented.

this begs the question, did you take the sign down or leave it up?
and did you go and find whoever posted it and intelligently discuss it with them?
