Sheesh folks... is everyone that miserable?

You can only be miserable if you actually give a shit, which I try to avoid whenever possible. I laugh at the ones freaking out over who stole the election from whom or who cries about a president 'destroying the world' because as you can see....8 years later....we're still here.

As Carlin says, this country was bought and paid for a long time ago, the shit they shuffle around every four years now means essentially nothing. The kind of real change that needs to be made never will because it's not just one person responsible for it and thus, no one can ever agree on anything.

And on top of that, a giant metor could wipe us out tomorrow and none of that other bullshit would even matter.

So why worry? You can fret day and night that we'll be wiped out by some disaster or you can, upon hearing about said disaster's imminent arrival, climb onto your roof with your drink of choice, throw one of your fingers on each hand up and be proud to be out of your mind, out of control, just kicking back and watching the show.

this begs the question, did you take the sign down or leave it up?

The phrase you seek is "It raises the question..." Begging the question is a logical fallacy that has nothing to do with this discussion.

I left it up for two reasons: I had an appointment to make and I am not sure it's not better up as a subject for discussion for the people that pass by it. I might take it down if I see it again and my time is more my own on that occasion.

It doesn't change the fact that one of my neighbors feels that way, does it?

Thanks, i read your statement and begged myself to ask that question.  my mind may not always be logical, and i have gotten used to the way that i think.  Most of the time, people understand what i am saying.
if i presume incorrectly please forgive me.  i presume from the nature of Your writing that You found this sign offensive, but chose to bury your head in the sand and ignore the sign.  only to gripe and to post its message on this site, while the offensive sign is still posted, now getting further attention.
as a realist, i would have taken down the sign, and talked with my neighbors (or is that too superhuman) to see if anyone would own up to this behavior.  As a pragmatist, i will have talked to my neighbors, told them that the behavior was offensive to me, and have accentuated the message that this was not something that i wanted to see posted.  With a bit of diplomacy, none of your neighbors would take credit for it, but none would be likely to repost.  in a realistic world, the offender would probably tag you as a homophile, or personally involved.  if that concerns you, taking the sign down would make a quiet, but eloquent statement.  Replace it with a sign that says "God is Love".  Or you can sit and bitch, be holier than your neighbor, and think that an intelligent solution has been reached and that this will never happen again.  Or is that too much like an ostrich.

Life is good...Idiots do abound. Why I choose to discuss political shit on a board where no minds are changed and nothing is ever accomplished is a heck of a good question.

I'm really tired of the idiots. We are getting dumber and grosser as a people...lol.

Fuck it, going to go see Joe Jackson at the Vic tonight...For some reason he has aged...Just seems like yesterday that I was singing away to "Is she really going out with him."

He still sounds great...He looks older...I haven't changed a bit. And why in the fuck is she going out with him?

Seeing truth isn’t what makes people go crazy; it’s the fact that others don’t. It is difficult to resist the urge to run around shaking them to consciousness.

Remember, it is their choice.

When the time comes, looking back will be mistaken as regret.
