you could keep telling yourself it is because you were too much for her.  it's as good a line of hogwash as any other, don't you think?
have fun at the concert and don't think about it too much.

Yup... that's about the size of it. (Original quoted thoughts modified to how I would have expressed them.)

And for those who believe in none of the above? Well... ignorance is bliss.

Do only miserable people have these beliefs? Of course not. There are people out there who are happy with themselves and their lots in life, but who are concerned about the world they leave for their children.

Negativity breeds negativity. It is the downward spiral, and how those with negative attitudes feed off one another. Venting is fine, but when you cannot think of a positive, for every negative thought you had, then you are skewing your own psyche.

I can't help but wonder... I read the comments made here and there seems to be a central theme...

Bush sucks, government sucks, politicians suck, if the republicans win the election we're all gonna die, if the democrats win the election we're all gonna die, everyone is lying, everyone is lying about lying, every hates the Americans, Americans hate everyone else, the Middle East is falling apart, Europe is gone to hell in a hand basket, gas prices are going through the roof, taxes are getting higher, soon no one will be able to afford food... if there's any to be bought, the world is dying from greenhouse gases but we'll all die first from global warming, but we won't care cause we'll all be living in the streets cause it's a global conspiracy and corporate America is raping us, and we'll all lose our jobs, and it's all Bush's fault, and Bush sucks.

lol... And I've even left out all the laments about sucky doms and wannabe subs.

Sheesh folks... is everyone that miserable?

My personal life is excellent.

I feel its one of the duties of citizenship to intelligently talk about matters of public policy to everyone's mutual betterment.

...

Personally, I look forward to every day. I wish everyone could feel as I do and I want to help my fellow citizens in every way possible to make that possible for them too.

Let's be mature. Let's be realistic. It helps no one to play at being either an ostrich or a Pollyanna.

Thanks Firm! I didn't read all the responses and missed that rather hypocritical and amusing one.

...as a realist, i would have taken down the sign, and talked with my neighbors (or is that too superhuman) to see if anyone would own up to this behavior.  As a pragmatist, i will have talked to my neighbors, told them that the behavior was offensive to me, and have accentuated the message that this was not something that i wanted to see posted.  With a bit of diplomacy, none of your neighbors would take credit for it, but none would be likely to repost.

I have thousands of neighbors. I could bring it up at a city meeting of some kind, but that's not likely to be too effective. This is a small city for California, but it's still upwards of 115,000 people in my city alone. The county of which I am part of a suburban sprawl is bigger than that - far bigger. One city becomes another...

In short, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Hello Lovely Treasure
Not meeeeeeeeeee   I am far from misrable ( what is that anyway  lol)
I'm happy, living in NM now about to buy a home. My daughter is happy as hell with a job she adores.
We're healthy. Ive met some really nice people in person from collarme.

I just wake up each morning and choose to have a good day and not worry about all the BS TV- NewsPapers spew out every day.  I either ignore or laugh at the CM members who have all that policial poo cramed so far up their butt every single day there doesnt seem to be anything else in their life. Pityful

I never said you were stupid, in fact from your words I surmize you are very intelligent. I said you were hypocritical, as what you state in this topic is contrary to how you have acted in others. As far as your insults, it seems par for the course. If there is anything I state that you find only semi-coherent then ask for clarification and I would be happy to truly engage you in discussion.

i grew up in northern NJ, and know exactly what you are talking about.  You had written this as if it were a neighborhood offense.  i apologize if i misread your intent.  You had sounded as if it were someone who you might invite to have coffee in your kitchen and hence your personal outrage.
in a densely populated area, on my way to work, i would have either taken down the sign, or created one of equal size, and equally readable which said "I do not, Signed GOD."  Statement would have been made with a proportional response.
or you could spend all your time worrying about his noodly appendage.

Treasure,

I wanted to thank you for posting your thoughts in the OP of this thread.

The experience has served me well, in gaining a better understanding of myself and my purpose, and of course, with that; a better understanding of those around me.

The benefit of which, is priceless.

Thank you.

k
