I get a little sick of the whining that motorcycle enthusiasts do.  They talk about safety, yet lobby states to have helmet laws removed.  They make little poems like this, but they don't pay attention to statistics.  Most motorcycle accidents are the result of rider error, not error on the part of other drivers.  Bikers are the most whiny, self righteous people on the roads.  They are worse than truckers.  No one forces these people to buy bikes.  They are inherently more dangerous than driving a car.  I don't feel sorry for them.  The jerks drive by my house at 3 in the morning on their ear deafening, mid life crisis, small penis mobiles and wake me up.  They deafen people in traffic, and use safety as an excuse for making their bikes that loud.  But yet again, they don't wear helmets.  The hell with them.

Noooooooo.....of course you didn't. (I'd hate to see what you say when you ARE slamming someone)

Do you come to the forums and tell African American, Jewish, Irish, or any other all type of group jokes?

Some Jokes you keep to yourself. Or better still, try walking into your local biker event and repeating said joke.

Perhaps you should go reread all of your comments, not just your bad joke.

No I don't come in here and make racial slurs.  How is the oppression of racial minorities even comparable to making a joke about motorcycles?  No one is forced to ride a motorcycle.  You are not a oppressed minority no matter how much you want to pretend to be.  I don't need to reread my comments.  I know what I wrote.  This thread was started with a corny poem about the hardships that bikers have to go through.  I found that to be ridiculous since bikers take these risks by deciding to own a motorcycle.  I find whiny pleas for consideration from bikers to be hypocritical when they are inconsiderate to others by retrofitting noisy pipes on to their toys.

quote:

As to your repeated attempts to call me a victim and ridiculous; well first i must inquire, did you run out of insults or is that the best you've got?

I wasn't insulting you.  I made notice of something you were doing.  You have just tried to compare bikers to racial minorities.  If that isn't playing the victim card I don't know what it is.

quote:

Is there nothing you hold sacrosanct , nothing you deem so inviolable,  so hallowed in the pith of your marrow that you would ward it against the intransigent vilifications of those whose mealy mouthed mumblings resemble the pathetic whimpers of a mange ridden cur snapping and snarling at his betters ?

The biker, what he represents,  holds such sacred lodging in my heart.

Or is it that there is something, any one thing that you would enter the fray to defend except that you lack the wherewithal to present any significant display of intestinal fortitude to do so?

Yeah, there are things I hold dear.  But this is a free country.  People are free to attack my point of view.  I don't take it personally.  There are 300 million people in this country, and around 6.5 billion people in the world.  I accepted the fact that I wouldn't agree with everyone long ago.  The world doesn't revolve around me, nor does it revolve around you and your beliefs.  I will be damned if I ever hold my tongue when I have something to say.  I hold peace and quiet in high regard, which is something bikers attack every day with their noise polluting pipes.  Riding around on a motorcycle doesn't take any intestinal fortitude, so spare me another one of your attempts to give hero status to bikers.

quote:

I give you a quote from a fellow American, one who has went to war so you can keep your precious freedom and you mock said upright defender of your homeland with violin music? Very adult and patriotic.

I can only draw the conclusion that i am dealing with one whose mental capacity, sense of civic pride and personal belief system equate to that of a infant who knows no loyalty except to the teat he suckles upon. And by way of providing proof of this lack mocks those who possess such.

No I mocked your argument.  You are trying to use patriotism as a red herring in an argument about motorcycles.  The two have nothing to do with one another.  Why exactly does my disdain for certain elements of motorcycle subculture make me unpatriotic?  Who ever you quoted is not the only person that has ever served in the military.  My 65 year old father was an infantry officer in Vietnam for three years and a silver star recipient, and you should hear him talk about long-haired, dirty, greasy bikers.  He can't stand them.  He loves to tell a funny story about watching a bunch of Marines beating the hell out of a bunch of bikers in the 60's and throwing their bikes off a pier.

Or as i previously suggested has a rather bad case of Harley envy.

And again with the red herring arguments.  Rinding a Harley does not equal patriotism and civic pride.  I have my own beliefs, but they are based on things more substantial than a piece of machinery.  Your previous suggestion is without merit.  If I wanted a Harley, I could buy one.  I don't have the slightest desire to.  Motorcycles, muscle cars, big trucks, etc are just not something that holds any interest for me.  You talk about maturity, but apparently haven't figured out that others may not see the world the way you do.

quote:

At any rate, please do come back and throw another temper tantrum, perhaps given long enough you can do better than "ridiculous" and "victim".

I threw a temper tantrum?  LOL.  I am not the one on here trying to call into question a person's patriotism because he dared to complain about loud pipes on motorcycles.

I'm new here, but I ride a bike. It's a Honda Shadow and I love it, but looking forward to the time I can afford a Harley.

And OP, I loved the poem.

I'll have to agree with SlaveBoy... even if I don't share his views on bikes exactly, I also can't stand the types that think they are all-American heros for having a Harley. Bikers don't represent anything... they are just people on bikes.

Here's another "update" for you...

Passed about 9 bikes going to and coming from work today. There were all varieties. A crotch rocket or two...a couple of Harley-esque bikes and then the in-between 'cruiser' type bikes.

Didn't hear a single one. One of the harley-esque ones passed three lanes over while we were barely moving and I though for a "moment" I might have heard something, but as there were large trucks around too, it could easily have been one of those. Either way I didn't notice the bike's 'potential' for making that faint noise until it was 4 or 5 car lengths ahead of me.

Nope, seems to me that the loud pipes, or the "stock pipes you claim are loud" are only for annoying your neighbors in the morning. On the road, they are meaningless.

Bullshit.  SeeksOnlyOne, they care a lot about their image.  What I find completely hillarious is the challenges I have received on this thread.  "Make your jokes in a  biker rally." etc.  Well most of the bikers I see are middle aged men.  It really is hilarious to have their middle aged girlfriends challenging me to go fight these guys.  I am in my early 30's, and in good shape.  Why would someone be so stupid?  I have gotten challenges from these biker guys a lot of times.  Guess what?  They all back down.  I am 32 years old in good shape.  When some 50 year old dude with a pot belly threatens me in a bar....it really is laughable.  Riding a Harley doesn't make you a tough guy.

.  Riding a Harley doesn't make you a tough guy.

no it doesnt-and the ones i know dont think it does.....anyone that challenges you to a fight is more than likely a moron..........if someones serious about hurting you theyre gonna do it before you know whats happening......

but riding a harley doesnt make you a non caring asshole either.....the ones i know are all employed-have ridden for years, raised families, done good and bad in their lives.

you may not mean to, but you come off as sayin all bikers are assholes......and thats no more true than sayin all male subs are wimps.....

ive never regretted any post i made on here than this op.......i hoped it would make folks think and watch out more on the roads....instead it turned into this cluster fuck over stock pipes vs non stock....how well insulated new cars are.... truckers are assholes....i forget what all else.

i come from a family full of truckers and bikers and car drivers.  lil ditties like the op make us remember to be careful.......trust me ill never make the mistake of trying to do it again on here......no matter your original intent, and no matter how you try to explain it-once a thread takes that wrong turn theres no turnin back.

i kinda-no i really-wish the mods would just make it go away.....none of my intent was realized except to a very few.  the rest was .....well.... i aint gotta clue where it all came from.

SeeksOnlyOne,
Your post will make some think and watch out more. Even if it only makes one person do so then it was worthwhile. It is a shame that it went the way that it did yes. Unfortunately though, there are some folks who have a stereotypical view of a group of people, be they bikers or blacks, hispanics, Christians, Jews or even us kinky folk...and no matter how you present yourself or what you say...it won't make a hill of beans difference to change their minds. So be it. I learned a long time ago that if someone sees me on a bike and thinks that I am nothing more than an inconsiderate, knuckling dragging cretin or a mindless, bimbo slut...that's really ok. Thank you very much and please drive through. If they can even own that kind view then they don't possess the level of integrity it would take to even come close to being considered welcome company anyway. I'd consider it no great loss on my end.

Slaveboy, I feel yer rage, man.
There are four sources of brain-rattling noise here: garbage trucks, the fire-trucks from the station down the street, boom-car kids and bikers with loud pipes.

Since I want the garbage collected and the fires put out, I deal with the first two pretty well.

Oddly, there is a huge biker contigent in the BDSM world. But where are all the BDSM boom-car drivers?

*waves*  i rarely wind it up unless i'm in a really angry mood, tho... It's just that, generally speaking, an overpowered system sounds better than an underpowered one when played at a moderate level.

All my bikes but one have stock pipes, tho... and that one has factory pipes, they just came off a different bike.

Straight Pipes are illegal, they can be quite unless you rev the piss out of the engine.
When Im pulling into residential area I keep my bike in high gear to keep the RPMs low.
Can my bike be lound yes? It still wont exceed the 84 decibel level.  I really dont want to wake up any one at night, so I keep the noise down.
