No hate on my part, mate. It's quite obvious where I stand on the issue: it's been made abundantly clear over the past few weeks of this fiasco. Perhaps you missed it? You were gone for a while...

I actually agree with you: how about that, aye [:D] ?

Perhaps you think rattling cages is your calling... I don't really care, what motivates you. Sometimes you make interesting points because your referencing rocks. Huh, that's it.

It's one thing to speak out against evil, and another to go off into la la land.

I find using "R" strange, but that's just me. [:D]

Seriously, "many" people of all colors are "weird", right?

ETA:Seriously, this is getting embarrassing... repeating propaganda hoaxes  to attack Wright is not exactly the mark of either being right, or an impressive sense of integrity....is reality too much for people to work with?

Doesn't anyone dare to address what he actually said about Tuskegee, Hale, Peck etc, instead of what the media twisted into bogus soundbites?

I've not always agreed with you but respected your views... but you really need to watch and listen to Levels YouTube link.

If you do that and still think the quotes are out of context and fabricated then you must be deaf and blind... I will then have sympathy for you but no longer but any weight to your posts.

lol....Dude, the point isn't really about being "right." I'm sorry, but there is truly a lot more to the picture. So what if Wright is right? I personally feel he is on the right path....But what difference does it make if his actions help disassociate white voters from Barak? This is happening. Do you think that the average "Joe" is going to watch the whole sermon? Fuck no....They are waiting for Wright to explain himself in a way that allows them to "warm up" to Barak. He ain't doing Barak any favors thus far.

I'm pretty damn far to the left...This is a perfect example of possibly winning the battle but losing the war. It's a shame....This is the time of the game that one really needs to take stock of where they stand and how things are going to be overall perceived by the voters. Rev Wright has apparently not done this or simply doesn't care...either way his presence has the strong possibility of not being viewed as a positive by white voters.

Pretty straight forward shit....It's a shame but it is reality.

You're the one bringing racism into it. I don't like Obama because he's the furthest Left Senator we have - he's a Socialist, bordering on extremism.

I don't care about his color. Why do you always cry 'racism' if someone does anything other than faint over your candidate.
No, I'm a Socialist. Obama's a European-style conservative. I suppose that to some, though, there's little difference between Mao and McCain.

I suppose that is as convenient a way as any for you to run away from all the links I posted showing what Wright actually said.

Even on the one you stick to, it doesn't say what is claimed...he said 'Tuskeegee' quite plainly regarding AIDs.
So once again, where is your evidence that the government never conducted the Tuskegee experiments as Wright claims they did ?

Perhaps I think I don't let cyber bullies tell me what I think.  And yes, it is quite obvious where you stand on many issues...anything progressive is only fodder for you to derail and turn into a flame war.

About as real as fabricated quotes and fake black posters can ever get.

I would say that Obama, being the furthest left in the US Senate, is very socialist in spite of any word game you might like to try to play.

People are dumb. Fake quotes, misquotes or not...Wright is currently not helping Obama. That is the end of the story.

And I am about as an authentic of a fake black poster as you will ever see....And just who in the fuck is that feller in your avatar? He don't look like he exactly hails from Tennessee....Peace.

Alumbrado's attempted racism hijack aside, black or white, be it Archie Bunker or whoever, anyone who attended a questionable congregation for decades then, late in a run for president, in essence denounces that congregation... doesn't look sincere.

I would have more respect for him if he stood by Wright, like Domiguy and Alumbrado and so many others do.

Leaving off the "chickens have come  home to roost" and "God damn America" statements...... this still leaves his belief that the government invented AIDS, and his praise of Louis Farrakhan.

I certainly do NOT believe that Obama holds those views, but it was legitimate to ask.

That's true, he sat in that church and listened to that idiot for TWENTY YEARS and all of a sudden *NOW* he "get's it?"
PU-LEASE!!!

cloudboy -> RE: Wright, NAACP (4/29/2008 9:49:03 PM)

A critic of Wright has characterized him as a narcissist.

What bothers me about this controversy is that Reverend Wright is a Red Herring in this political campaign.

I just wish the American Public and media could keep its eye on the ball: the economy, tax policies, political effectiveness, national defense, the crisis in banking, infrastructure issues, energy issues, the national debt, environmental policies, the IRAQ WAR, and transportation policies etc.

Why the fuck do we care about a freaking minister in Chicago?

Its just so sad that the KARL ROVE method of politics is so ingrained as the "winning formula."

When are people going to realize that the Karl Rove method of politics is toxic?

Obama is trying his best to lead us away from petty, mole-hill, divisive, small minded politics. I just hope he succeeds.

Cloudboy, this has nothing to do with "Karl Rove Politics."
It has everything to do with a "minister" from Chicago who's a racist with a BIG FUCKIN MOUTH.
He was on the News today sticking his foot in it!
He's STILL at it!
And who's the ones bringing up "race" all the time?

I'm well aware of that...and it says a whole lot more about some of the regular posters than it does about me, that something as simple as linking to a factual reference kills a thread full of bogus posts.

A good example would be someone's claim that his Navy buddy founded Telecheck ...except of course that the obituary for Telecheck's founder listed him as born in 1912.
Ditto for the claim to have been a federal agent... blown out of the water when the other poster didn't even know the difference between civil service job classificatons, and pay grades.
Or the Evil Jooz thread where I persisted in posting links proving the Holocaust deniers were full of it.

And you continue to applaud the flood of misinformation here on CM, actively attacking anyone who attempts to refute hatemongering gossip, and stick in personal attacks in an attempt to derail references to reality.

So I'll take your accusation that my linking to facts constitutes 'flames' exactly the way I take the whining of those who think it is OK to call me a pigf**k*r. or a motherf**k*r, while claiming I've 'abused' them by proving their ignorant assertions to be exactly what they are... unsupported by facts, and dependent on ignoring the truth.

lronitulstahp -> RE: Wright, NAACP (4/30/2008 5:44:16 AM)

Sooo Obama is friends with a racist, bigot, un-informed jerk-off.  How many people can say they have  affiliations with only open-minded forward-thinking progressive people?  Ummm noone.  i mean not too long ago someone on this forum discovered a link to the KKK in their family, and a bunch proudly hailed the same.  i bet if those people ran for political office and that came up...they would distance themselves far from it.  Imagine if the thoughts of all those grandparents and cousins were on a soundbite...   Assuming that Obama is like Wright because he attended his church, is as smart as assuming all catholics are pedophiles, or McCain hates gays...he caught homo-phobia from Hagee...or Hilary gets bj's in the oval office.  That's the part that's skewed to me.  If i had to explain the beliefs of everyone i called friend, i'd be in deep shit.....  i hate that divicive tactics work so well in a divided country, but what can you expect?

Sanity -> RE: Wright, NAACP (4/30/2008 5:55:20 AM)

Irishknight -> RE: Wright, NAACP (4/30/2008 6:38:11 AM)

How is it that no one has mentioned that this did not become a big issue until Obama was shown to be capable of taking on HILLARY?  As always, it is the Clinton machine pushing this in an attempt to destroy someone's chances of beating them.  She started the fire and then stood back to watch it rage.  The woman is a political arsonist.
I refuse to even get into the debate over the racism aspect.  I am part Irish.  My ancestors were brought over and forced to work in much the same conditions as many Africans.  Its history.  I am also part Cherokee.  My ancestors on that side were here and were slaughtered by the millions for over 200 years by people following "God's mandate."  It's also history.
Now whether people serving that same god now are white hating, black hating or claim to love everyone ... their murderous god can go screw himself.  We don't need that shit to happen all over again.
