No, I don't think it will help the economy at all. It's going in the bank and deliberately into savings. Financial irresponsibility is a main reason the economy is in such a mess. People should have been saving their money and not blowing it on things they couldn't afford 8 years ago. Now the government wants us to take this money and go blow it all at Home Depot and Starbucks? Not fucking likely; at least on my end. I have always been a tightwad, but I am being more so now.

Car and Home repair that has been put off until now. Better to repair the car than buy new, and better to put the money into the house than most anyplace else I can think of. Tax refund was higher and has already been used to pay down debt.

No difference to the economy. I think they were talking about an overhaul on social security a while back. You get 500 to invest for your retirement. One could look at it as getting a one hundred dollar raise. Anyway no plans for our 1200 here. Just to the bank.

- credit card paydown 35% -some new camping gear 10% -silver bullion 10% - our rainy day fund 45% I do think the majority will spend all of it on consumer goods, eating out and traveling, BUT I don't think it will "boost" the economy like they anticapate (hope & pray) that it will. Give us this money is like trying to bale out the Titanic.
