I've been doing some thinking about that statement. I know that is dangerous for one such as I, but somebody has to do it. Seeing all these posts, I have noticed something, and it is not just here. There is a dominance of anti-government [action] posts everywhere you look on the internet. So many people are coming to the opinion that this country has lost it's way, and even to the conclusion that some of these actions are immoral and criminal. We see more and more of it almost every day. Now I am a realist. For those who know I am a self admitted racist, you also know MY definition of the word and you know it does not match YOUR definition of the word. I don't know what to call it, racialism doesn't work, nationalism doesn't work, but I am not a bigot of any sort. What I describe is a connection to my race and my roots, and as such I realize that I have certain preferences, prejudices and thought patterns because of my lineage and background. To not recognize this would be ignorant. As such though, I balance such tendencies out with rational thought. Now there are going to be X amount of people who vote. And there are certain types. One type will vote for their own favor, and these are a fairly large block. We each want to vote ourself a better life. But some see the whole thing differently. I think most people with a brain would want to vote for someone who will stop this insane spending and start trying to get the deficit down so eventually we can enjoy lower taxes. That would be hard to argue against. There are other contingents of the population though. I have known people on welfare, not now but in the past. What they were talking about was "I'm voting for _______ because he'll give us more". But then senior Citizens who worked all their life who live on a pension might vote the same way, but for different reasons. They want back the money they earned. They got duped into social security and know if they had just invested the money themselves they would be better off. I don't blame them. Then there are the young gunghos who will vote republican because they think it is time to go in and kick Iran's ass. Then there will be those who vote along racial lines. Yup, they will decry racism but if Black, Obama is their Man, if female (same thing different group) they will vote for Hillary. And then there a plenty of people who can't stand either. Then for them it is McCain or abstain. I detest the way they run this show, it's not even a popularity contest these days. It almost seems like a stupidity contest, for us. Actually of three I would take Obama. That may surprise you, but yup, even in light of all this shit with the preacher, he is probably the best choice out of the three. Ron Paul ? Love to see it but it just isn't practical and who else is there ? And someone mentioned Obama getting sworn in with his hand on the Koran. Now wait a minute, Judeo-Christianity was carefully avoided in the Constitution for a reason. "Endowed by their CREATOR". If the Koran is the book in which he believes, doesn't it make sense to have him swear on that ? The oath is proscibed and will not be changed, he WILL swear allegiance to this country at that point. And the pledge of allegience to the flag is a non issue to me. I read the words before reciting them, and refused. This is a flag, a piece of cloth. I have allegience to the country, but not the cloth. Just for the record, let me give you my oath : I pledge allegience to the cause of the people of my country for their wealth and health humanity and sanity Me. But what is your country Mr. Obama ? Yes that can be asked and is a valid question. But then ask it of the other candidates. All three of them are liars, cheats and crooks. Take your pick. I'll take the Black one. This all may sound like a racial or anti-racial thing but it is not. When this guy was first coming out I was impressed by some of the things he said. Fuck the preacher, I don't care. And I don't care if he refuses to adorn himself with the flag, that is ridiculous. And on the flipside of that last statement, here's a guy running for fucking President, and he holds true to his ideas of this. What does that say about him ? He will not go against his personal beliefs even to achieve [what is erroneously called] the highest office on the planet. Think about that. T
