Yes there IS a clique here... you get one most any place folk stick around to be 'regulars'... only a short step from reg to clique

But letting them (them as in ANY clique) drive you away is because you have let them. Unless they have the authority to ban you, which can be the case in some places. If they don't have that authority then simply tell them to kiss your ass and don't let it effect you.

I just keep my nose clean. I dont suck up, I just dont see a reason to go out of my way t be mean and nasty and insulting.
Theres one thing to bring up a valid point, and theres another to be unable to make your point without insulting anyone who differs. If theres something said in a post somewhere that is pulled ebcaue one or more of the posters are being asses, I have seen people make their own focum posts out of it to open real discussion. No one benefits from a board where people do nthing but bitch, moan and insult those who dont agree. Theres nothing to be gained from it and when the mods get rid of it I am usually happy about it.
It realy ist that hard to stay out of their sights.

I find the idea that there is internet cliches to be a bit funny.

I associate with some people on a casual basis, but outside of that, don't pay much attention to the background.

There is a number of people who have a history of posting sensible, logical and realistic concepts and I tend to give them a bit more respect when conversing with them.

Of course, at the same time, I have seen people who make sensible and logical posts post things such as "established lifestyle definitions and protocols" without providing anything more than a bullshit Wikipedia article to back it up. But I tend to write that kind of stuff off as a narrow-minded elitist attitude...

We see a whole slew of completely ridicoulous and increditable things here on a daily basis. How I respnd is determined based on how serious I am willing to take the idea. To debate something is to give it a degree of creditability and some things aren't worthy of the creditibility of being debated.

I post if I have something to say, I read if I don't. If I'm bored, I leave. If I'm interested, I stay.

None of that has anything to do with anyone else, nor would anything I say be influenced or affected by what anyone else has to say.

I own my words, nobody else.

There are many cliques on collarchat. And loose electrons that hop from one clique to the next, or others who just stand alone most of the time... this site is not different from the way people interact in real life. Well, except that it's not real life. The snarkiness is absolutely GREAT: it makes the place all that much more gritty.

The rhetoric is a little strong in the quote you cited, but I often wish people could be a little nicer, or at least let things slide when they can't, for the life of them, find it within themselves to be nice.  But, that's true everywhere.

And, lately, I have noticed a lot of intolerance.  My skin's not very thick lately and I end up cringing even though it almost never has anything to do with me.

I guess I don't get here often enough to know who is in a clique, who is cool and who's not. I know I am certainly not in one. I just come here and find what interests me, post what seems relevant, cut up once in a while, seek out info if I have a question and do a lot of reading and absorbing. I love all of the different perspectives I get. Even if there are cliques here, I don't see how they could have the power to banish anyone though.

And a side note....MoGa....I enjoy reading your posts and you are definitely not on my block list......actually, I don't have anyone on my block list.

i haven't really noticed any cliques (probably b/c i have never responded well to such groups), yet i have noted when someone whines about this site or the folks on it, the response is not so sympathetic, and i am unsure why folks should be.
i read to pass time, entertain myself, occasionally learn a thing or two, and from time to time, vent (respond) to folks who make blanket remarks about a place that is free to come to and free to leave.
i responded to the OP You quoted after i looked at his profile, and read the three threads he started. IF this place is as bad as he has stated, he could exit stage left, and re-enter the real world.
i rather like the varying input, i never cease to be amazed that is for certain!!
