Over in humor there is "You might be Taliban if", and really it's not all that bad, but I take exception to it. As with most of this type of joke, some things are true. I really could see a guy with an expensive machine gun who can't afford shoes. It is not the joke I have a problem with, it is the fact that it is considered acceptable.
What if it were 'you might be Jewish if' or 'you might be Black if' ? I bet it wouldn't be so well recieved.
How about you might be a Polack if you take your shoes off before your coat when you get home. I am fully morally and ethically qualified to say that because I am a Polack-American. Polack is actually the Polish word for a Polish person, but somehow it got adopted into slang. Well I am here to take the word back and I have the blood to do it.
However even if I would not be within my rights to call someone else a Polack because of the way it is generally taken, Polack jokes are OK in many circles. Sometimes vieled by simply using the name Stash it means the same thing. If you're going to do that at least spell it right. It is Stas.
So now the Taliban. Actually I don't see eye to eye with those people but I do not claim to be the moral arbiter of the world, unlike SOME people. They are far away and their law is very old and archaic. But it is their own damn business.
So someone mentions heroin, well Sharian law does not allow that, anyone who doesn't know that needs some updating from a source other than Faux news. Here's one -

The fact of the matter is that the Taliban had to be villified to promote the goals of the globalists. And of course that is what happened. Of course in earlier years they were great, when we were aiding them against the Russian 'invaders'. Any group can be called a terrorist group, or they can be called freedom fighters. The media picks the term based on who is on who's side at the time. In the end, the base definitions are identical. The boss will tell you which word is appropriate.
Don't get me wrong, I am not here to stick up for the Taliban or any Islamic group. There are things with which I agree and disagree in their laws. I do not agree with their treatment of Women, but that is them. Women got sufferage in most other cultures, and they got little if any help from Men in the beginning. Actually Moslem Women have alot less with which to fight, but Women always have the ultimate weapon. They can refuse to bear children. This illustrates that we need each other. There is no denying that and eventually we might see a movement in the Arab world in this direction.
However I do agree with some of their laws. I believe that if someone is caught dead to rights stealing, instead of incarcerating them and feeding them for free, cut something off of them. People tend to go to extremes though. Let's say instead of cutting off your whole hand it would start with the pinky finger. On the right hand of course. Everyone you know for the rest of your life will know that you got caught stealing once just by shaking your hand. If two fingers are missing then it is even worse. Keep doing it and you know the eventual conclusion.
However that would result in a community in which people could trust each other.
Their strict rules about the comingling of Men and Women, especially the young, I agree to the point. But the adults know what they are after, and they know what the kids will do because they know when they were that age they would have done the same. However they take it to the point where Women are not allowed to be educated so there are no Women doctors and I have hear that sometimes the rules inhibit Women from getting treated for their ailments. That is too extreme.
There is one thing in common in all peoples or groups who have gained right, sufferage, or freedom. They got it themselves. We can't liberate anyone, only they can liberate themselves, no exceptions. That is fact because if we destroy an oppressor and supposedly 'liberate' anyone, we are now the leader. We could easily decide to be an oppressor, as our superior strength is quite demonstrable, err actually demonstrated.
Of course where there is strife caused by us, that is where the demonstration didn't get off so well, and further education became necessary.
So I have come up with a few of my own, and I am not going to pick on anyone else, I am going to bring it on home.
You might be an American if : (this means US American)
Your view of world politics is so distorted and warped out of shape that educated people in Europe, and even Russia and Asia can't believe it.
You book a flight to certain countries and the travel agent recommends you go to a class to learn to talk and act like a Canadian for your own safety. (I can prove that if you can't find out for yourself)
You think they can cure anything, even depression, with a pill.
You don't know about what happened to the USS Liberty, everyone else in the world does.
You have a wall unit full of video games, but your phone is shut off because you did not pay the bill.
You have a popular TV show called "Are you smarter than a fifth grader ?".
You have a regular job, nothing going on the side, no business venture, not even a remodeling project on your house, no issues, nobody is sick or anything, but you use over a thousand minutes a month on the cell phone. Most of it while driving.
Over in that thread that I balked at, people were talking about having a sense of humor. But the fact is IMO if you can't laugh at yourself, you don't have it, it is something else. If you can't "take" a joke, all you have is the capacity to ridicule. That is not what I call a sense of humor.
So join me in this. Think up some more 'you might be american if' lines. There are plenty of things to laugh about, but the negative examples I wrote were meant to be negative. It doesn't have to be, although you know how these things go. But the point is, if we can't laugh at ourselves, what right do we have to laugh at anybody else ?
Oh and I know we got folks from all over the world here, y'all are perfectly welcome in this. Now is your chance.
If people come up with some good stuff we can edit it and post them in the humor section, now that would be cool. Good or bad, try to express it with some wit. We could get a nice list compiled. If we are going to claim to have a sense of humor let's prove it.
