The genocide continues to this day.  You just lost any credibility you may have had with me.

If you're referring to the modern troubles between Armenia and Azerbaijan, I would agree that there is still ethnic cleansing in the region.  Unfortunately, it is not unilateral and thus is more properly described as "war" than gencoide--very much like the conflicts that have broken out elsewhere in eastern Europe, in the aftermath of the Holocaust.

Genocide is the gift that keeps on giving.

I don't wish to put a negative spin on this, but if you had been able to spend more time with her you may have also learned many of the horrors she had to face and endure as well, some of which that many victims of war will bury deep.  WIth some of her former Masters she could also be suffering the effects of Stockholm Syndrome which is common with those captured and abused with physicological changes that occur that end up causing a victim to then show devotion to their captures in some ways a self defense mechanism that aids in their survival, I think for many here to assume she was not abused because she expressed happiess and had good memories is a false assumption    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

under the Crime Library you can read accounts of   here is the story of Carol Smith who ended up being captured and was used for 7 years as a sex slave  http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal_mind/psychology/sex_slave/index.html

I knoe an older wonderful woman who is Jewish she can tell all sorts of wonderful stories abouit her life even about incidences in the concentration camps but she says very little about her family  and husband who was killed there....spend a bit of time talking to her she may highlight mostly the good memories ...spend enough time with her and you slowly learn of some of the pain she also went thru...most get thru life by focusing on the good
