You misunderstand completely. I have no illusions about what McCain plans. None at all. I *do* know that I haven't heard HIM mention attacking yet ANOTHER country, like hillary has. I do know I haven't heard HIM talk about saving people $28 at the pumps over the entrie course of the summer, while putting thousands more Americans out of work.

I have no illusions about McCain at all. I simply don't want hillary in office. Period. Someone here mentioned approval ratings and putting the same party in. Remember, it's the party, not the guy. McCain's personal politics already sound different from Jr. I've heard some people say he's got challenges because he's not "right enough."

And another thing on the subject of approval.....in *my* ratings...hillary has a zero rating. I'll take 31% over 0% anyday. But that's just the mathmatician in me.

BoiJen -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 9:21:23 AM)

Let's not get into "white lies." I'll give it to Clinton and McCain...they're not dumb enough to say what Obama has been hinting at from go "I'm one of you."

His comments about working class individuals sunk him. Educated or not, the working class individual will take offense to the comments blatantly stating that they/we cannot decide anything outside of religion of violence (guns). That we're dumb and don't know how to take care of ourselves in economically hard times. Let's not get into the "white lies" of not knowing his own pastor. Such bullshit. He came out strong didn't know how to shut the fuck up. And now he's done for.

If the Dems want ANY shot of making it they need Clinton. Obama has already ousted enough of the general public to not have a chance.

Doesn't matter McCain will have it. Which even if he does have a screw loose, he's better than some of the other Reps that would have liked to have given it a shot. And in case anyone hasn't figured it out...McCain is a conservative Dem in Rep clothing.

Besides...it's not like your vote matters anyways. Even in the primaries, even if the district votes in majority for someone, the deligate does NOT have to vote for who their district picks. You want a real change...change the system.

I don't care what happens...just bing our boys and girls home. We miss them and we don't need to loose anymore of our blood.

kittinSol -> RE: I get to go vote for Hillary in 2 hours! (5/6/2008 9:24:30 AM)

Are you kidding? McCain has no more scruples than Clinton - and let's not forget which party he belongs to. He can't even hide his cynicism. Just a few days ago, he implied  that the invasion of Iraq was for oil .

quote:

My friends, I will have an energy policy that we will be talking about, which will eliminate our dependence on oil from the Middle East that will - that will then prevent us - that will prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East.

Talk about a major blunder rofl.

BoiJen, well said!
If we get McCain in for 4 years the congress can block a lot of what he'd try to do.
Then we can get another (real) president in.
I agree, we need to get our people out of Iraq.
You don't go after al qeada and bin laden with whole Army Divisions that are highly visable and easy to attack and extremely expensive to deploy, you do it with "spooks", spies, and "others."
If you know they're in a certain area poison the water, use booby traps, unmanned drones, chemical weapons, biological weapons, kill members of their families and if they show up for the funerals nail them.
Distribute "cartoons" of them using all kinds of propaganda.
One thing you *do not* do is "fight fair."
Hillary would be perfect for that!
Obama would be worried about their "self esteem." lol
We need to start "fighting smart."

It's interesting that you call what clinton has been doing "white lies."
Telling her harrowing "sniper fire" story. Then the story about the
pregnant girl who died because "no one would treat her." And lets' not
forget that after the Ohio/Texas debates, she called Obamam big mean
liar for the mailers he sent out that were DIRECT QUOTES from what she
said in the debates. I'm sure the debates are on youtube or some other
source. Anyone who saw the mailer could compare it with the video of the
debate. The language of the mailer was right out of her own mouth in the
debate and she still called him a liar.

It's funny in one breath you say he shouldn't have called himself "one
of us" but then you mention mistakes. Do you not make mistakes? I do. I
say things all the time that could be taken out of context. Half the
time I'm joking around with friends, if someone who didn't know me were
to talk into the middle of one of my conversations, they'd think QUITE
interesting thoughts about me, none of which would be true.

Your insinuation that you took offense to his comments about the
religion and guns, seems to me to prove you are what you "think" he's
trying to say you are. A good number of people who don't read into his
every little word know what he was trying to say. However the "other
side" still loves to take those comments and spin them. Wanna know
something? I'm bitter about Bush and Co. And I am in the process of
buying not only my own pistol, but also obtaining a license to carry it
on my person. Seems to me he made a fairly accurate statement. Now, when
you read into such a statement, as you and his opponents have, sure it
can be made to sound bad. But so can ANY out-of-context statement.

Not from where I sit. I have heard many, and continue to hear many,
people saying they will not support clinton if she's the nominee,
especially since Obama leads in states and popular votes. Clinton is
only barely holding onto a very narrow lead in the superdelegates. If
she gets the nomination, that will be not only bad for the current
election, but for many others. Because it will send the message to many
that no matter who they vote for, their leader will be determined by a
"special, select few" and the word of the common person means nothing.

This is precisely why those I have spoken to echo me sentiment. They see
McCain as Republican "light." Sure, there are more issues on which I
disagree with McCain than there is with Obama, but between McCain and
hillary...it's no contest. At least in his haste to promise 100 years in
Iraq, he's not indicated, to my knowledge, a desire to start a war with
yet another country (Iran) when we haven't finished the first 2 we're
involved in. Clinton on the other hand has already said she wouldn't
hesitate to attack Iran.

Of course. Let's not shed anymore overseas. Let's wait for it to come
here so that more of *our* innocent blood can be spilled first. That's a
fantastic idea. *Sarcasm*

Smith get over yourself...the dems who want clinton when Obama is nominated are gonna vote for MCCain. The Dems who want Obama when Clinton is nominated are gonna vote for McCain...McCain will win. For as many people as you talk to who want Obama I can find as many who want Clinton.

Obama didn't make mistakes. He lied about knowledge of an Anti-America pastor who's congrigation he was a part of. Wright openly says his sermons have ALWAYS been that way. There's no way Obama didn't know. You don't want American blood spilt on American soil and yet here you are tooting the horn of someone who supports someone else who thinks Spet 11th is OUR FAULT. You wanna talk about a fuck up and a waste...then go vote for Obama and prove your point.

I'm not perfect but I'm sure as hell more patriotic than to vote for someone who has anti-America in their corner.

And according to your view, it's better to just send our boys and girls out to get slaughtered by forgieners on foreign land than actually work on strategic attack and defense. Let's just go in blindly and find out how much of our country's Military can die in the next god knows how long. Bring them home and deal with this shit already.

Smith you're the example of the one who got pinned by the fear tactics. Remember spend your money on duct tape and plastic and then bury the rest of it in a hole. You'll save our economy that way and keep your family perfectly safe.

Oh man... there we go again... the matter of Rev. Wright has  been discussed at length on these boards. How about you do a search, and get informed before spewing propaganda, hmmm?

As for the rest, I would hope that you would respect another voter's decision if it differs from your own. No need to be quite so offensive, you know [8|] .

This election... talk about a circus...

Propoganda right. That's why Wright can be quoted for several years for spewing this bullshit. And the news people are just making this up though right? Company you keep and all.

Check again your vote and mine and almost everybody else's don't count. Deligates don't have to nomiate based on their district's vote. And while I respect someone's right to disagree...I don't don't have to respect or like their stance. The wonder and JOY of being American.

O boy here we go again

First let me explain, I'm deaf so I "think in sign language" and then have to translate the signs into letters, then to words and sometimes words get mixed up or lost in translation before finding their way to a co-herent sentence.

Can we try substituting "needs" with "beliefs" I think that is where I was trying to go or at least it sounds better.  We all have different beliefs on where our country should be heading, etc.  I try to pick the candidate closest to my own personal beliefs.
