isn't it "how secure the pretty people are" that scare people..instead of good looks?

It's funny you have this amazing ability to judge a couples whole relationship with one another based on a snapshot you get of it at a coffee shop when they are arguing.

Wishful thinking is that which you are currently doing because couples argue, so be more realistic about life. It isn't always a fairy tail where some woman is waiting to be whisked away from her evil jerk of a boyfriend.

Uh NO, see I realize couples argue... However, its a pretty good statement on the relationship when she leaves with me! (or anyone else) When her boyfriend finally comes away from the pool table to discover she has left him in the bar without so much as a goodbye, its a pretty damn good indication of  the state of their relationship. Likewise, when a woman is sitting there by herself looking like she would like to be anywhere but there, slamming her beerbottle around, and looking over at her bf like I wish that motherfucker would spontaneously combust that too is a pretty telling snapshot. In such a case, walking over and offering a few kind words often results in a hookup....

Why do you seem to have such a problem with the idea of women making their own choices and going for the best deal they can get? Im just curious why this is so offensive to you? If you are treating her well and keeping her happy a guy like me should pose no threat...

No, you're fine. You just don't understand us older women. I could definitely just take off, sper---spur of the moment-like. I have an extra set of dentures in my pocketbook (and I don't hafta always wear them, if ya know what I mean); my walker is portable, just toss it in the trunk, we'll get early boarding on all flights because of my titanium hip; you can draw maps of our destination(s) on my legs--they'll blend in with varicose veins. Sure my tits are on my lap, but if you wanna get real freak-a-deak we can shoplift some hams from the Piggly Wiggly--just tuck 'em up under there.

I have no problem with people making informed choices but not people being manipulated with the promise of something better; which in the end you never seem to give. Once upon a time your wife was the one you understood deserved the best in life, what happened to that idea? No you gave up on her as soon as she became defective with OCD, most people would try to help someone they love in that respect.

You are contradicting yourself in terms of the claims you make about being able to treat a woman better than their current boyfriend and I, a logical person, can see that. When you see that evil boyfriend treating their girlfriend badly you are really looking at an image of yourself and it is so funny you don't even realise it.

You are no threat to anyone but yourself, you are wasting time when you should be thinking what is wrong with this situation and who will be the last person to kiss me goodnight before I die; it probably won't be a twenty-something. If you want to live alone all your life that is your choice but it's obvious to anyone with half a brain you are running away from emotional commitment.

(edit: -some operah crap)

Just wondering...is that all older women or simply the ones you have encountered?

Well I cant say all because I obvioulsy havent met every older woman on earth but I would say its more than most here in the US. Both you and kitten have said that doesnt apply to you but my understanding is neither of you are American.

With the vast majority of over 30 american women I have known a trip needs to be planned well in advance, an itinerary known, things packed two days before etc...  See if Im not scheduled, (Keep in mind I work 54 hours a month plus some training flights / sim rides in my own biz that are scheduled in incriments of 1 to 3 hours at a time,) I dont have to be anywhere. So say its a nice day and we were going to a particular cajun restaurant, well I might suggest lets go to the beach. "Well we dont have beach stuff" My attitude is thats ok I'll buy some. "I dont have a swimsuit" thats ok well swing by the mall. Oooh theres a parrothead thing happening at a bar on the Strand - fuck it lets get a hotel so we can get wasted away in Margarittaville! The younger crowd goes for that, the older crowd is concerned with missing mass the next day, lesson plans for monday, the antique show they are going to with their cousin, the meeting of the scrapbooking club etc...   I def think the aussies are more laid back and in tune to going with the flow and winging it than American women.  (Now I will be chewed apart by American women LOL See I cant win.)

OMG this guy is a hoot!

I must just be living in a pocket of parallel universe "old" people because most of the people I know in my age bracket and older.......it is the MEN that get all narrow minded, stay-at-home, and stuffy. The women have raised their kids and are ready for some adventure. All too often ditching their men to hang out with "the girls". Or they sit and bitch, moan, and whine, about their fat lazy husbands while they have affairs with the golf pro's at the country club.......

Ok so it took forever to read all of this but here are my oh so helpful comments:
  1. Pretty people don't scare me.
  2. I have never walked up to meet someone because there were attractive.
  3. Sometimes, some people don't like someone simply because they are attractive.
  4. I need more than just looks for me to be attracted to someone.
  5. Annoying is annoying no matter how pretty the person is.
  6. Age doesn't really matter to me.  Attitude is the deal for me.  My last was 41 my current is 19.  I found both beautiful, fun and fascinating.
  7. Is DA really DG back from banishment?

Not unless he's undergone a major personality change.

Well I sort of thought both were pretty much made up personalities.

The loneliest girl I ever knew was also, prolly, the best looking. She was actually a very nice and good person, we became buds. But she was lonely because even though she (literally) stopped traffic, everyone ( or most) saw her only as this hot, beautiful chic and "related" to her as they saw her. She wound up marrying a much older gay man who wanted her around on his arm for social and business situations where he wanted to appear as straight and powerful. He showered her with riches and she was insulated from the real world. Sad,

I try not to judge people by their looks. After all, I'm no beefcake myself. I'd much rather spend time with a smart , funny mature person than simply a good looking one. Btw, I prefer women who are  in their 40's and up. I did when I was 13 and I still do. It depends on the individual, of course.

The most striking people are those beautiful ones who are so self-assured and happy within themselves they literally look as though they own the world... They do exist, although nearly as rare as a unicorn. But the ones I've known literally sizzle: their auras are palpable.

that is a sad story indeed. Sad that the world is like that....especially in this extreem example. (we are all a little visual orientated i guess)
