you can also follow the Gastric bypass died (with out the surgery)
Vitamin 1 pernauto vid a day
Nutrition Facts
The gastric bypass diet is designed to bring about significant weight loss. Learning new eating habits and following the diet correctly will help to maintain this weight loss over time. In general, the gastric bypass diet includes foods that are high in protein, and low in fat, fiber, calories, and sugar. Important vitamins and minerals are provided as supplements.
Protein is the nutrient that the body uses to build new tissue. It is important to get enough protein right after surgery, to make sure that wounds heal properly. Over the long term, protein in the diet will help preserve muscle tissue, so that weight can be lost as fat instead. Foods like lean red meat or pork, chicken or turkey without the skin, fish of almost any type, eggs, and cottage cheese are high in protein and low in fat.
Sugary foods include candy, cookies, ice cream, milkshakes or slushes, soda pop, sweetened juices or gelatin, and most desserts. The gastric bypass diet is low in sweet and sugary foods for three reasons. First, these foods are high in calories and fat. Even in small amounts, they could make weight loss difficult. Second, eating sweet or sugary foods promotes "dumping," a reaction which can occur after the gastric bypass operation. Experiencing the unpleasant symptoms of dumping syndrome may limit the desire to eat sweet foods. Finally, most sweet and sugary foods don't provide many vitamins or minerals for the calories they take up&emdash;and since calories are so limited on the gastric bypass diet, it is important that every food contribute its fair share of nutrients.
Fat may be difficult to digest after gastric bypass surgery. Too much fat delays emptying of the stomach and may cause reflux, a back-up of stomach acid and food into the esophagus that causes heartburn. Fat may also cause diarrhea, nausea, or stomach discomfort. High-fat, fried foods and fatty meats are common offenders.
Fiber, found in foods like bran, popcorn, raw vegetables, and dried beans, is also limited on the gastric bypass diet. There is less space in the stomach to hold these bulky foods, and less gastric acid available to digest them. Some kinds of fiber could get stuck in the pouch itself, or block the narrow opening into the small intestine. Do not take any fiber pills or laxatives without the advice of a physician.

fluids
At every stage of the gastric bypass diet, it is important to prevent dehydration by drinking enough fluids. Tips for doing it right:
  • Drink 1 cup of water or low-calorie beverage between each meal
  • Fluids should add up to at least 6 cups (48 ounces) each day
  • Sip slowly&emdash;make beverages last 30 minutes or more
  • Finish drinking 45-60 minutes before meals dont drink 45 min after a meal

1200 calories is probably not enough for her, removing so many calories will just put her in starvation mode and she won’t lose any weight if anything she may put on even more weight.  A balanced diet with lots of vegetables and fresh fruits ½ the meal, lean meats ¼ and whole grain carbs ¼.   A small sectioned plate can help with proportions, small meals with light snacks to keep energy up through the day in my experience works best. Seeing a dietitian will help get you started I wouldn’t suggest starting a radical diet change with out seeing one.  Swimming, walking, yoga, other stretching exercises are great starting places for starting to tone the muscles, again see a doctor before starting a regimen to prevent muscle tears and joint injury. This is just what I have learned from being a weight lifter/body builder being injured gaining a lot of weight and having to lose it to start from scratch building back all the muscles I had lost.

Cherry unless you're adding two or three 500 mg calcium supplements daily, and they need to be taken several hours apart from each other, you are leaching your bones of calcium and setting yourself up for osteoparosis. I urge you to get some info from a dietician about this.

-Eat what you want when you want it, eat is consciously, and stop when you're full-

http://www.mckenna.com/

This site has a lot of interesting ideas, they may or may not help. One thing to remember is, She can't just go on a "diet"
she has to slowly, over time, start  learning to live a healthy lifestyle, which includes completely changing the way she looks at food and eating.  Also, is she on any medications? If she is, check the side effects, there are a handful of medications out there that can cause you to gain weight. Make sure to have her eat breakfast, and then have several small meals throughout the day, it'll help get her metabolism back on track, which may take a while.
Start setting mile stones and rewards for reaching them, no matter how long it takes to get there. A spa day might be the motivation she needs ;)
Good luck-

Simone

It’s not about calories.  When you starve calories the body goes into the winter fat storage mode.  It makes it even harder to drop fat and you can end up burning off muscle.

You can go on a high protein, low fat, low sugar diet of 4500 cals a day and lose weight.  Bodybuilders will eat up to 9,000 cals a day.  They aren’t fat.  It’s all about fats, sugar and what turns to fat.  Unlike sugar which readily turns to fat, Maltodextrin is like magic.  What your body doesn’t consume, you excrete.  Even green beans have sugar and bodybuilders often prefer broccoli for that reason.  Turkey breasts have very low fat content compared to the leanest beef or chicken.  Like the others in this thread, I suggest you do some serious research outside of CollarMe and stay away from fad diets.

Please don't start comparing body builders dietary needs with the average person...that is how we stupidly got atkins in the first place. to much protein to much fat not enough of the right carbs are just as bad as any other UNBALANCED "diets"
Body builders have severely detrimental diets to normal people because most normal people can't possibly do the type of damage to their body that requirs 1.5-2 grams of protein per lbs of bodyweight. the average person only needs .75-.85 g/lb and even if you are hitting the gym 3-5 days a week Chances are you still don't need more then 1 gram/pound.

not to mention the high protein low fat low fat zero carb "diet" which spawned the atkins diet was only meant for the 3-5 days prior to competition for the final ripping up.  the massive amount of protein was to curtail the fact that they  were throwing their bodies into an unhealthy canibalistic state. where it started ripping away whatever nutrients it could from fat and muscle...

TO the OP:

I agree with the majority of comments: the 1200 calorie diet was probably way to low to sustain her base metabolism or increase it..causing her to gain weight despite being on a restricted calorie diet.

finding the right food in the right portions eaten at the right times will help INCREASE the metabolism and Fuel the Machine in a way that will cause it to want to speed up energy expenditure rather then try to conserve it.

of course seek a professional.

but besides the usual healthy eating info I found a great resource was a book i got at GNC called "nutrient Timing" (for 15 bucks)

Diet plans are great for telling you WHAT you are supposed to eat... this book added the concept of "WHEN" in order to maximize your metabolism and boost energy production while limiting body degradation. and it was well written to be both simple to understand yet also entertaining.

Cheers
Skully

Well I'm 5'4" struggling to get under 200 pounds again.  But what works for might not at all be what she needs- bodies really are very individualized and when it comes to something as personal and emotionally tied as weight loss tends to be, online perspective might not be what you need.  Feel free to email if you want to know what I have had success with.  THe basic formula of burn more calories than you take in never changes, but the process and long term fulfillment within that formula varies tremendously.

I did some searching, but couldn't find anything that really matched what I wanted to do.

My slave desperately wants to lose weight.  I have had her exercise, but at 5'4" and a bit over 200lbs, she needs to lose some weight first before exercising too heavily.

I could put her on any diet I like and she would do it.  We work and live together, so she wouldn't have much opportunity to do anything else.  A 1200 Calorie a day diet did absoloutly nothing for her; in fact, she gained.  her doctor has assured us, via bloodwork, that there is no medical problem.

Have any of you guys put your slave on an extreme diet (with multivitamins of course) that worked?  Or any other suggestions?

You don't say what the doctor tested for. If a 1200 calorie diet isn't working, I'd say it's medical and from personal experience I can say that getting my doctor to do the tests for PCOS and the ensuing insulin resistance took a threat of filing a complaint with the medical board.

Since you're not a doctor and you're not a trained nutritionist, I would say that you should stay out of it and send her back to the doctor. Extreme diets can do permanent damage to heart, kidney, liver and thyroid. Let the experts figure out what is going on.

If you want to be safe about this and you are willing to sink some money into it... I would suggest something like Nutrisystem. Along with excercise, the prepackaged foods they send along with vegetables you provide, and a realistic goal for keeping yourself on track has worked wonders for many people I know. My little brother has been on this, since his doctor tested him for everything under the sun and he just could not lose. His doctor suggested the nutrisystem, monitored him closely, and suggested he join a gym. Nearly a year later, and 130 lbs lighter he believes it is the best thing he has ever done.

if have a need to lose weight, i try to only eat half of what is on my plate, and exorcise twice as much (that isn't a lot)
i'll stick to nearly raw beef, salads, and take in more fluids. this leads to the need for fiber tablets... i take a prenatal vitamin too.
it works for me and after a month of the modified diet (Master and i are pretty meat-and-potaotos oriented) i am happy with my size (normally a ten pound lose) and can keep it off by maintainly my physical output, returning to a "normal" diet.

this drives Master bonkers becuase this won't work for Him. lol, He'd love an eating an all most all-beef diet...

A few things I suggest, having lost a ton of weight.  I read the book "Body for Life."  I actually read about 200 books, I'd guess, but this one helps the most.  It can work for someone who is completely unused to working out, because you set the pace by paying attention to your body.

Of course, finding a job which requires physical motion is never a bad idea.  Eating fresh food, avoiding even "healthy" frozen and fast foods is better.  Even weight watchers and those types of frozen meals have to have preservatives in them to maintain shelf life.  Better to make it fresh and reheat it.  My Lord often cooks extra food, which is frozen.  It's a quick meal when I'm going out the door to work, and I don't overeat or eat crap.

Calorie counting will work, but is time intensive, and requires the monitoring or at least discussion with a doctor.  Keeping a food diary is good if you can maintain it.  Joining a group helps, but may not work for an introvert.  Besides, the weigh ins are murder.

Try walking short distances at first, increasing the time and intensity.  Try putting a goal at the end of the walk, say...a stop at a favorite store, or in the case of us, an activity we want to engage in.  This gives us somewhere to go, instead of just walking for walking's sake.

Good luck.  It can be done.  I have the pics to prove it, if you'd like.

It's really great stuff i came apon while studing the Kama Sutra and Bramha Sutra. It incorperates body type, interests, life style (activity levels) and spiritual developement. Everything seems so well rounded...

On the other hand, it was reckamended that firey artist types like me not eat toast,,, so i can't say i've ever followed the practice... i like toast.

Does what is shown on here only happen if a person loses weight fast? Will losing weight slowly prevent a person from looking like that?

Exercise program ought to be begun prior to calorie restriction as otherwise the op is causing his s to go into starvation mode and resetting her metabolic rate to very low, thus defeating the whole purpose. In effect, by doing this without first having gotten medical/dietician advice he has caused the very thing he sought not to do. Now that he's screwed her up, he really must go get professional help to correct this.

Plus it's a good reminder for every other d type out there, if you aren't qualified to make your living at this, then don't do it to someone as you could cause long term problems. One hour of a dietician's time would have saved this sub months of problems and frustration. Pity her d was too headstrong to realize that he didn't know what he was doing.

No, If a person has really sigificant weight to lost they are going to have the excess skin to deal with buit it can be removed as they showed. Losing weight slowly does help the body regain some elasticity but not THAT much.
