I thought of this thread when my friend SunshineMiss said to me,"remember when we were the smart girls on the forums?" i thought of that and then the term remember when. Whats your remember when? Remember when penny candy was really a penny?

i remember hopping on my bike (at a single digit age) and riding it for 2 hours to a small farm where i'd help the widow there feed the animals and take care of things, she'd give me lunch and some change in return...then the 2 hour bike ride back home, sometimes after it was dark. this wasn't dangerous or out of the usual. i wish it were that way still.

remember when If you were fortunate enough to own a computer, and you wanted to link up to a BBS (bulletin board system) you could only do it on a phone line at 300 baud, and then transfers were with xfile? remember then? remember you had either an apple, 2, e, W/E, Ti994a, Vic -20, Timex sinclairz80, If you had serious $ or new how to build a pc, Hercules graphics card, a Tape drive, you had to be rich to have a Disk Drive, never mind the hard drive nor Bernelle drive. yeah those were the days!!!

I remember when my friends parents would and did discipline us and my parents did the same for my friends and this was the norm. Manners were the norm, "Yes Ma'am" No, Sir" and spanking wasn't child abuse.

My dad use to wake us up in the middle of the night to leave for Florida on vacation. He was too excited to sleep, We would get in the car. It was a Gremlin with a hatchback. He would lay the back seat flat. And me and my 2 sisters would ride laying down in the back.
