I don't think that TPE means that one is a mindless drone waiting for someone else to make up their mind for them.

I think that if he wants me to be proactive about something I am still doing his will. If he wants me to shop and pick out curtians all by myself, then it's still his choice, if he wants me to call the cable company and haggle with them over price, he's decided that too.

If he decides that he's got far better things to do then picking out what clothes I can wear each day and has directed me to do it all by my little self, then how is it really less then TPE? To me it's more about intent then actual action. Since he requires a thinking and rational adult as a companion, that doesn't make him any less in control.
