I dunno know why people think its a fantasy to be naked.  If they want to be naked, why don't they just take off their clothes?

When its warm enough, I spend alot of time with no clothes on.  Its like, no big deal.  And, it is very practical.  Not only does it save on laundry.  It saves on clothes.  :)

Afterthought: Living alone is cool.

For me perhaps because it was rarely present in my past relationships, I have found there is as deep and intense an intimacy in just hanging out in bed watching tv and reading the newspaper as there is in any hot intense kinky scene.

If you can't enjoy all the moments together, it's much better to enjoy the relationship for what you DO enjoy, rather than trying to force it into something that will make you drained.

LOL where I live it gets to -55 degrees in the winter. always naked means frozen bits hehe

in regards to the OP, I agree, most of the time it's about work and housework and as Knight said, the frigging grass lol

Only in the books is it all about play time and being kept in cages naked and such. It's just not realistic.

Well, considering that our "lifestyle" is more like a 1950's marriage...we come pretty close.

It's true sometimes we're just a married couple, but the fact that he's the Dominant and I'm the submissive is always there.

Yes Master and sis and I live the lifestyle 24/7, although at this time I don't live with them as they live in Canada and I live in the states, but when I was up there for 2 weeks visiting, no it was not always about kink...hell I couldn't stand that anyways...I loved going grocery shopping or going to the mall or watching tv with T/them...it's not only about being tied up, beat, spanked, etc to U/us...it's about serving Master to the best of our ability, whether that is serving Him on our knees or cuddling with Him after a hard day at work ~smiles~

I tend to use the "fantasy vs reality" of BDSM (it doesn't even have to be 24/7) as a yardstick in measuring up the people I meet. If I go to a munch or something, and the person I'm talking to has this "Sleeping Beauty Meets Story of O" impression about what the scene is like, I know they are new and inexperienced... If on the other hand, I'm talking with someone, and they want to discuss just how much time we're going to spend together, to get our respective needs met before "having to go back to the real world," I know that they are someone who's a bit more seasoned.

I'm not putting newbies down... we were all there at one point or another... but at least knowing where they are on the spectrum allows you to adjust your approach, and have a better idea of who/what you're possibly getting involved with.

We've slowly been moving to a more 24/7-ish kind of situation. I've gotten used to calling him "sir" more often, putting his needs before mine, he's been firmer on his requests for chores to get done, etc. Even so, when it comes down to it, if he's closest to the juice pitcher and is thirsty, he can get himself juice. He's not about to expect me to stop whatever I'm doing on the other side of the room, get on my hands and knees and crawl to the counter to pour him some juice.There's a point where it just gets impractical. It's fun when we do "slave days" but all the time? I'd implode. Thank goodness not everyone thinks 24/7 is like the dominant is some kind of helpless, pampered prince/princess.

Though we do stay naked about 90% of the time we're in our apartment, but that's because it's hot and A/C is expensive!

Okay, that is kind of funny actually.  My pet REALLY hates cold feet, but I adore cold hands... so his service to me (when I've been exercising or some other temperature rising situation) is to come and put his hands on my neck or back so that I can cool down.  (and yes, I do stick my cold feet on him at times)

OP:  Life is life and  your 24/7 sounds a lot like mine.. no naked and chained here (the um's make it nearly impossible anyway) - although, it is a nice thought for a little while without the prying eyes of neighbors and ums.

I guess we are pretty dull too, no chains (except around his neck on occasion) and he is allowed to be naked whenever he wants except if he is cooking.
We are more working husband (me) and adoring housewife (Fox) with kink... but it works for us. Eventually, itll be working husband, adoring housewife and dependant baby... but itl take  while until I ave the perfect house put together. Itll stil be pretty quiet. Fox, Angel and I spend time wandering walmart, eatting out and playing video games. We go walking, and take pictures, we read together and take baths together. Pretty dull, eh?

Another pair of realists here ... the dynamic is there but so is the practicality ... and the being helpmates to each other. No, it doesn't sound dull to me.  It sounds like the 3 of you have a beautiful, loving, happy, caring, comfortable and committed life together.  It would be wonderful if relationships, like yours, could become more widely accepted.
 
As to being "always naked and chained" and waiting by the door all day, that can become boring, too.  Doing anything over and over, with no variety can become boring.  Just like many 'vanilla' couples like to 'spice things up' with a little kink, putting some 'vanilla' into a kinky relationship can do the same.  After all, 'variety is the spice of life', as they say. 
 
And, of course, there is the practical aspect to it.  Unless you live on a private island or in a nudist colony, it's just not really practical to think you can stay naked all day.  When my Master and i lived on the 3rd floor and it was very private, i did stay naked and on my chain during the day, many times.  But, now that we live on the ground floor, it just isn't really doable.  i wouldn't have a problem mowing the lawn, with my chain attached and in the nude, getting an overall tan but, the neighbors probably would not care for it much.
