Status: offline 		I  usually tell him about it afterwards. He doesn't mind much because he likes coming home to a happy, horny sub. Masturbation is more like warm-up for me anyways. If he's displeased that I masturbated, he'll communicate that later but for the most part he doesn't care.

If his rule is that I must ask for permission, that is what I do. If I cannot get in touch with him, then I follow his directive (and if his directive is "don't do it if you cannot get me", then I don't do it).

I'm allowed and encouraged to masterbate when ever I want. He likes me to be in a state of arousal as often as possible. But not tell him?? yaaa no. I don't believe in keeping secrets, and it's a serious no no with him. If I lie or purposely forget to tell him something I'm in shit.

Status: offline 		I no longer have a Dom, but I would never not tell if the rule was that I had to tell. If they didn't care, then I wouldn't bother saying anything. And since I tend to masterbate a LOT then hopefully it wouldn't matter to my Dom. (especially since this is the only way I can orgasm)

Status: offline 		I think it should be discussed beforehand.  I often travel for a week at a time overseas, and I will ask for permission to masturbate freely when I am gone.  If I am home then I ask the same day, or sometimes am given the privilege without asking.  It would be easy to cheat on something like this - I see it as a test of my willingness to obey.

Status: offline 		In a previous relationship, I was not to masturbate. Period. He would have phone sex with me when we were apart, but I did not have permission to have an orgasm on my own.
 
Now, the orgasms are still the property of Master, but I am allowed to masturbate as long as I thank Him properly as soon afterwards as I can- by phone or the next time we are together.
 
Yesterday however, I actually called Him for a pre-Thank You (it was during and I requested the aural enhancement He alone can add to the experience ). I still thanked Him profusely afterwards (and, believe me, He was wonderful!)
 
As to not telling Him- NO WAY. Transparency is at the foundation of our relationship. I am His and I respect the tenets of His ownership.

My point of view is that the best relationships are when the parties are compatible and on issues such as this they stick by agreements they've made regarding them. I don't see any purpose in answering further on a personal level unless you have some valid reason for needing that sort of information. Sounds like wanker fonder to me given your other post in this thread otherwise input from any gendered submissive should suffice to help forward your thirst for knowledge.

Status: offline 		Ask him ahead of time for his rules about it. Obviously if you don't see each other for six months at a time and he forbids it, you'll need to rethink the relationship. But I'm sure he'll set up reasonable requirements.

When I had girls, they had to ask me before they did anything. If not, they were punished. They knew ahead of time their agreement with me was that there was to be no masturbation without permission. One breach and there was punishment, 2 was dismissal. I had only one rule for them, and that was it, so if that was too much to ask of them I wasnt going to be bothered trying to cultivate anything else.

This is the kinda thing I deal with early in a relationship.  The girl is officially "second in command"....
 
When I'm about, her body is my property and she needs permission to touch and self gratify etc.  When I'm not there, she reverts from submissive to mature, independent adult (and next in command) and I trust her to make her own choices and decisions.
 
But I'm not a micro-manager.  "Property" means different things to different people and it would seem fairly sensible for any control based relationship to work out individual protocols.
 
I really don't like setting the girl up to fail; it's self defeating to tempt her with "do it and not tell him" situations.
