I have been married one time and the last two years were a roller coaster ride to hell!  In my situation, divorce has made me strong and I vow never to repeat the same mistake again!

i was married in my 20's and 30's to a complete sh*theel...the father of my kidlet.  i was so afraid of making that mistake again i never even considered getting serious with A/anyone in my 40's, but now in my waning days as i enter my 50's, i feel differently.  If the right Man came along...yea...i think i'd find the courage to remarry.

i think a good marriage is a wonderful blessing to B/both P/pl and a bad marriage ranges from inconvenient to hell on earth.  Then, of course, there's all the fun of divorce to go through.

I was married briefly when I was young. I don't remember why I was stupid enough to have left him. Looking back, I realize he was good guy & very submissive.

I was married for 17 years, he has aged to be so much like his dad and me like my mum ... i should have realised, his dad and my mum were never going to make it!

it would take a long, really long relationship before i'd consider marrying again .. or even living 24/7 with anyone!

I was married...successfully blocked it from my memory...until you had to post this damn poll and bring it up again~~~sob~

Anyhoo, I love to love, would love to be in love, but no, I'll not be married again.
Patience, honey.

I've been married twice. First time from 75 to around 78; second time from 85 to 2003.

Likely will not do it again, for reasons unrelated to love.

I was married almost 16 years though we were together almost 20. Will I try again? Yes, but once only. I wasn't going to but Lumus changed my mind.....

First marriage here, weve been together 23 years(one night stand turned into lifetime)  married for 20. Ups and downs galore, but still mucho love. Hes not kinky we tried it for a few years, its just not his thing, but he accepts mine.  We drive each other crazy at times, but the love is deep. If we were to get divorced for any reason, I dont think I would get married again. Im open to love and companionship, but not a need to make it  legal. Each to their own:)

Actually, I explained my marriage to my mom and her friends one day while sitting around a campfire.....

I had two kids....I divorced one!  Thought her friends were gonna die!

Did it once, thought I was going to do it again, but turns out while we were looking at planning a wedding, his was to someone else!  (Bastard! Now, at this point in my life, I doubt it will ever happen again.....I love my independence, I can come and go as I please...I'm sure that will change if I ever find "the ONE", but only in the sense that I will answer to him as a submissive.  Meh...time will tell....I may end up as the "crazy cat lady" for all I know!

That is the problem for me, divorces are NOT fun especially when the initial filing fee at my courthouse costs $363.00!

This is where I am.  The only problem is I'm not sure I could change if I ever find "the one", because I like my independence and not having to share my stuff or take care of another person.  I'm not sure I want to take that on, I think perhaps the obligations and responsibilities would cause me to resent the other person.  I'm trying to sort it out in my head, not making much progress.

Katie, that's sort of my thinking also.....to me, the best of both worlds is having a dom that comes and goes, no pun intended.  Some days, 24/7 seems like it'd be a dream come true; others, it's more of a passing thought.....usually as I'm out squandering money on "frivolous" things, or grocery shopping at 3 am.  Some days, even having to answer to the cats is more committment than I want!  And I understand the whole resentment problem......nothing can trash a relationship faster then that.

I'm playing the whole relationship thing by ear, but marriage....nah, I doubt I'll take th at step again.

I was in a vanilla marriage and hated it. He thought after the ceremony I would turn into his christian submissive mom and wait on him hand and foot. Nope didn't happen, I'm naturally Dominant and a pagan.

I am now happily divorced and in a D/s relationship with my malesub. We plan to marry someday.

I was married for 18 years, and then he died 17 months after the divorce from a slow-growing brain tumor that can change people's personalities. Sometimes I think I'm more of a widow because we never would have divorced. But then I wouldn't be with Master now- the greatest relationship of my life.

Master has never been married- no kids, no baggage. He loves my ums. Just another in the long line of reasons of why I am so blessed to be owned by Cuffkinks.

I'm so sorry to read that hejira. I have a brain tumour which is shrinking rapidly with chemo. I was lucky and it was only a Grade 1 tumour. My thoughts and moods are still affected slightly and it really is terribly difficult sometimes on the people around me. I'm sure you know it wasn''t him who changed, it was the effect of the tumour.

I was engaged. We didn't marry though. It's funny (in an odd way) how tragedy and loss tore can tear two people apart. It we were just about to buy a house together. Sometimes I think us going our separate ways was a good idea and that we just weren't strong enough as a couple to make it through the really bad stuff. Other times I still miss him. But I enjoy living alone and doing my own thing for now.
