Hey RS..........I'm surprised you haven't posted your dish washer woes in the blame Greedy thread yet.......lol

In fact I did do that!

Hey RS, it could happen to anyone, even a girl who has been doing dishes since she was 10 years old!
LOL, good idea there MstrObjectmaker.

It shouldn’t have happened, I know better.  I was tired, hence nap and water dream immediately after loading the dish washer.  I just screwed up that’s all.  ...
Don’t worry, someone will be punished for this eventually!

i sometimes wonder whether men do these kind of blatantly stupid things (the instructions and common sense SURELY tell you to use the right powder), just so they get out of ever having to do the dishes again.

That only works if you don’t live alone!!!

Does loading the dishwasher count as doing dishes?  That mess on the floor would be grounds for a good switchin' at my house.

Yes… if I tell a slave to do dishes she can use the dishwasher and it counts.

Charming dream concepts, RS.

I think there were sonic influences at play in that dream.

RS.. I have only one thing to say..

I wish every time Greedy says that, she has to do my dishes.  . . . wait… wrong thread!

I hope you have a mop at your pad… I didn’t.  Had to use towels.

NO men shouldnt do dishes. Cant even get the damn things clean using a dishwasher,even after being trained on how to do it properly and get them clean.

cjan -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 8:09:55 AM)

RS, my brutha, you are going about this wrong. A batchelor, enjoying the freedom and delights of living alone, i.e., one dish to clean one cup, one glass, etc., need only lick the plate clean and back into the cupboard it goes. Efficient, ecologically sound, and no mess on the floor to , ummm, mess with.

ResidentSadist -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 8:13:43 AM)

Cjan.... bro... I cook!!!  That means many pots and pans + 1 cup, 1 plate etc.

KMsAngel -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 8:16:04 AM)

ponders employing a resident sadist to come cook for me. i'm tired of cooking for one. do you have a try before you buy scheme? do you come with that sexy goatee/beard still? how expensive are you?

cjan -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 8:19:00 AM)

Of course, I cook as well. I find rinsing the pots and pans under hot running water in the sink works well to get the chunks off. No soap, please, it leaves an unpleasant , um, soapy residue. What remains just adds layers of flavor to the next dish on the menu.

darchChylde -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 12:02:07 PM)

i am the dishwasher... using the house hold appliance means prewashing the dishes, loading the dishwasher, unloading the dishwasher, washing the dishes, drying the dishes and putting the dishes away... i can avoid 3 steps just by plain doing the dishes right, one time at the sink

Did you call???

soul2share -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 12:12:11 PM)

hhhmmmm...let's see...my ex got out of doing laundry by tossing a red sock into the whites.....pink T-shirts and OD green fatigues just weren't the fashion statement in the 80's that they are now......CO's tended to frown on that.  He got out of cooking by using a METAL fork on my $600 set of good teflon cookware.  The rules in my kitchen are (s)he who cooks doesn't clean up.......ex's idea of cleaning up was to soak everything in the sink......FOREVER!  His idea of cleaning was to swipe around the same cloth to clean everything....from the toilets to the countertops in the kitchen......that and tossing everything into a closet...he was of the school "out of sight, out of mind".  Until he needed clean underwear, then it was MY fault that they didn't get washed!

I do have one question for the cooking males out there.....why, please, tell me, WHY does it take EVERY pot and pan in the cupboard to heat up a can of spaghetti sauce and some pasta????  I have yet to find one man who can do it in 1 pot!  (The trick is to cook the pasta, set it in some water while you cook/simmer the sauce.....just in case any enquiring minds wanted to know!)

beargonewild -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 12:18:08 PM)

Sorry soul2share but it takes 2 pots. One pot for the spaghetti and a second pot to warm up the sauce!

Exactly, E. I've found that, especially for big jobs like clean up after  a dinner party,  a large( non_drooling) dog ia a batchelor's best friend

phoenixinchains -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 12:21:18 PM)

I use 2, while the spaghetti cooks that's when the sauce is heating up!

soul2share -> RE: -=Why men shouldn’t do dishes=- (6/3/2008 12:28:59 PM)

Then I'll cook....you won't have 2 pots to wash!
