Wow.......after years of looking everywhere, and I mean everywhere, I finally found the elusive item of my past.

The Ten Commandments on dvd. I have watched it on TV over the course of the years, but never at the same time. I was in walmart, checking out the Easter dvd's, no luck there.....happened to be perusing the cheap dvd's, and there it was, near the bottom. I think it's one of the greatest all time movies. While I'm not religious, there's just something about the story that I watch. Also, the actual movie itself....I' mean, c'mon, they split the Red Sea waaaaay before CGI. I'm still a little, (alot) disturbed about the horses, I vaguely remember reading years ago that some actually died during filming, but haven't looked for any trivia yet. I watched the whole thing twice, and I only bought it yesterday.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/28/2012 3:06:35 PM)

I saw the movie in Italy one of the times I was visiting family. It's INCREDIBLY compelling in Italian, it was like a whole new movie!

yourdarkdesire -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/28/2012 5:10:21 PM)

I love that movie. years ago on a family vacation in LA and visited Universal Studios. Not only did our bridge partially collapse as Jaws came out of the water towards us, but the Red Sea parted and we drove thru it.

And, I mean, Charleton Heston had a might fine chest - IYKWIM

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (3/30/2012 6:39:31 AM)

I never thought much of Charlton Heston's chest, but Holly Madison's chest is phenomenal!

I can not believe the paperwork for getting Butterhead into Kindergarten.

So. . . I am reading this stuff. Umm. . . go to the doctor for chicken pox??? Wait. What?

I had chicken pox when I wa 8. I do not think that I went to the doctor. I doubt that I would take Butterhead to the doctor. After all, it is pretty easy-pesy. Keep the fever down and rub LOTS of calamine lotion over her.

My great-grandma took care of me. Yeah. The one that just passed away.

So . . . I am sitting here, asking myself, "Self, are you supposed to take the child in more?"

But I tell self, "She is doing just fine."

I see my doctor for a reason. If she has a reason, I take her. Ummm. . . maybe that is why she has so few visits.

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/2/2012 3:35:44 PM)

Medical update, i have to have a femtib bypass in my right leg, three hour surgery and three days in hospital.

The doctor today told me it was a lesion in my kidney that is suspicious for cancer, but I do not have any symptoms so if it is, it has not gotten far.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/2/2012 4:20:25 PM)

Aylee - there is a vaccination against chicken pox. Not only does it keep your kidlet from getting it, it protects her classmates, which is as, if not more, important.

Jeff - I am assuming you are having circulation issues with your foot. The femtib bypasses that I have seen have all be successful. It is amazing what a good vascular surgeon can do. I hope your wait for surgery isn't too dreadfully long.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/2/2012 9:44:09 PM)

So, they want you to take her to the doc's because she HAD chicken pox? Or because she hasn't? And unless things have changed in 35 years, I thought once you got a childhood disease, you couldn't contract it again. Polio and smallpox were the big worries when I was a kid. Now it's my understanding that they barely exist anymore.

Lord, I'm glad I don't have to do all that to get a kid into school. Heck, when I went, the only thing you had to do was get a few shots. The only time you needed a physical was if you were playing sports....and even then, it was just to make sure you had two of everything you should have and nothing extra. Sounds like a huge pain in the tookus now.

Isnt there a vaccine for chicken pox?

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/3/2012 3:22:29 PM)

Good luck with the surgery Jeff.

Aylee, I think they want proof she's been vaccinated against it. The pediatrician will know, they do tons of these exams. They want to make sure the kid is healthy and they have a doctor's note about any problems. You obviously are trustworthy to tell them if she had a peanut allergy but there are lots of stupid people in this world.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/3/2012 3:25:38 PM)

There is. Medcaid covers it because when Lizard was 18 months, her pedi recommended the shot and we were on stamps and Medicaid at the time.

Soul, chickenpox does not really go away. It is a herpes virus and can come back as shingles, which is a bummer and hurts like hell.
