I think people consider it lazy to try and get away with the minimum amount of letters and going down that route will ultimately lead to total incoherence. It's a beautiful language use it to it's full potential and there is no reason at all that anybody can't.

[:(] I saw that study there is a famous optical illusion that asks you to count how many letters of a certain type is contained within a piece of text and people always miss out certain letters because the brain doesn't require them for comprehension of the overall piece of text.
