GT- you cannot house male and female bettas together, as one will kill the other sooner or later. Breeding bettas is a one night stand kind of deal, only Dad winds up with the consequences (at least for awhile). Feel free to cmail me if you really want to breed bettas.

Nah, not serious about breeding, wtf would I do with the babies?? LOL

He (his name is Bruiser) just seems kinda lonely.. any advice on other types of fish I could safely put in the tank with him?

And Sunny.. I start little left, finish little right ;)

 Yes, there are other fish that a male betta will probably do well with. but, as the answer to your question is a bit technical and doesn't involve toenails, it might require a new thread.

and K? he's been without a girl for about a month.. I figured he killed her.. I wasnt getting any sex, neither was HE./..LOL

Status: offline 		Uh, don't you introduce Betta pairs slowly, like an old fashioned peep show? Releasing her into the tank only when he has finished building his nest and they are displaying at each other? Sorta like those Discovery Channel exposes of guys looking for love on the streets of Amsterdam - they check each other out from opposite sides of the glass, decide they are both interested, and *poof*. Oh, and then take her away again afterwards, leaving him to guard the nest without needing to kill her.

Bettas aren't the worst D/s fish out there, but they really suck at relationships.
