What are the easiest colors for you to read?

For me, it's the default black in a normal size font.

Any dark color text on a light background (that isn't flourescent), at about 12 -14 pt font size (that is about size 3-4 here).  Light text on dark backgrounds make me feel blind.  Anything under 12 pts (size 3) strains my eyes as it is too small, anything over 14 pts (size 4) feels like I'm being shouted at.

The bright  or light colors hurt my eyes. Same with large font.  Maybe when I was younger the other than black/12 - 16 pt. wouldn't have bothered them so much.

I am long-sighted and have to wear reading glasses, my eyesight is deteriorating and I'll have to go back and get them rechecked soon as they get tired quickly which means I have to have the page text zooned in on 'large'. When I'm reading the posts and come across something so vivid as bright pink, red or anything else, it's actually painful to even attempt to read. I'd have to go through the rigamarole of highlighting each post but to be honest, cannot be bothered to do that especially when there are so many threads/posts by the same author that's doing it.

    Default black for me.

The single hardest combination for me is red letters in a bright blue background.  It has a 3-D effect, like they are jumping out at me.  Things in all caps drives me nuts.

Statistically, the easiest combination is supposed to be white letters on a black background.  However, few computers are set up this way.  On a computer screen the easiest for me is black letters on a soft color (not bright white) background.  This page is slightly tinted (at least in my browser) so it is easy.

I just click "hide" on the poster with large bright colors that hurt my eyes.  So if someone really wants me to read their posts - you change.  That goes for threads, too.

Dark works for me. Now, seeing how we're having a font-athon here on CM, does anyone has issues with my choice of color?

It's the same on my browser, an off-white. I think the reason I have a lot of trouble with my eyes is b/c I have to work at a pc for most of my working day and why I tend to hit the forums on a weekend these days. When I was much younger the lairy fonts didn't bother me... it's a sign I'm getting old! lol

And, fluffypet, I do place the author of such posts on 'hide', the only problem with that function is when a person quotes them so I'm still blitzed by it.

I go for Black on a a light background.  Not pure white because then it just seems glaring but what we have here is just fine with me.  I save the color contrasting thing for when I do ecards which is nowhere near as often as I used to.

Your font is just fine but if it was bright green and large I'm sure that opinion would change, and a lot of others would agree. The darker greens are supposed to be soothing for the eyes apparently.

I'm glad. I don't want to give anyone a headache, or make things difficult to read, but I like having a slightly different color; the dark green is what I used on alt, and have always liked it.

Agreed the black is the easiest on the eyes   ..the large text means excessive scrolling combined with bright colours becomes as much as a trashy  eyesore and as distracting    as driving down some main street  and seeing a multitude of neon advertising signage at least in my opinion

It's a nice colour, in my opinion. I understand a person wanting to change their font, I do this on MSN when I chat on occasion with family/friends, but still use what I consider an 'easy on the eyes' colour and never vary the size of the font either. I have a friend there that is fond of using very large font that's lurid pink, along with flashing emotes every other word, and I've had to explain to them that is why it is we rarely talk.
