that some just can't understand the concept of not interested when put politely? i truly am at a loss at the nerve of some with their jumping to conclusions. my profile is quite honest about what i want. odds are when i am only replying back with no i don't want to chat or no i don't wish to give out any info to someone.....its because i do not wish to get to know them for whatever reason(no profile or their just asking about sex pretty much gets me there FAST). they are extremely rude because their kink is not my kink or whatever i guess i'm venting[:@]

Because people don't like having their expectations, no matter how unrealistic, disappointed. Generally when someone contacts someone else they do so with hopes and expectations of how that person will respond. When that person doesn't respond the way they hoped, they get disappointed. Some people don't deal with disappointment very well.

Reminds me when I used to date at the age of 17 or so, when I honestly said "no" to guys asking for sex they usually thought I will give up if they were more pushy. When I asked what part of NO they didnt understand and should I kick them in the balls along with words to make them understand, they were genuinely surprised in me getting "all hot and bothered for nothing". Its just men. But vent all you want [:)]

I think it might also be because some people think you've said 'no' due to a lack of information, or a misunderstanding. So they want to hone their presentation and come at you again to give you another shot at their wonderfulness. Also, I know some guys take heart in the romantic stories of the persistent suitor who eventually wins the fair maiden over. So they might think that their insistence is a way of showing how caring they are. Then there are those who seem to feel that pushiness, even to the point of aggression is a Domly trait that will mesmerize you and make you glad that they didn't give up on you. Those last two things I mentioned are from the "Faint heart ne'er won fair maiden" school of non-thought. Another, more mundane explanation could be that they are simply dumb, drunk, suffering from too much testosterone in the blood, or are just jerks for some as yet undiagnosed reason. Just my thoughts....not that I'm an authority... Bob

I agree with all of the above, and feel the first reason is valid in terms of allowing one a singular chance/opportunity to provide more information. I sometimes get a lame hello/one liner from someone with a decent, potentailly compatible profile, I than write back not interested since you didn't tell me a thing about you personally nor a thing a bout why you liked my profile... I try to be courteous and kind whenever possible, and whenever I've not been approached disrespectfully. M

My personal fav -- entirely of my own making -- was the guy who spent 45 in YIM, trying to convince me that since i had never been peed on (where did he think i had that kid? in a jar?) i simply could not understand the transcendental joy of it. Only if rude hand gestures can be considered more articulate. And its not just doms or men, its submissives and women as well. A blank profile with only stats listed does not impress me at all. I realize not everyone is capable of writing a lengthy, well thought out profile or cares to make use of the journal feature... but at least make an effort to say something about yourself.
