Okay, so Nobody admitted to having a phobia about Friday the 13th. i wondered what phobias P/pl do have? i have Acrophobia - Fear of heights. Here's a list of phobias in case A/anyone needs it. Mice. I fear nothing and no one, but a little mouse can leave me shaking for days. I once had a mouse at my place. I moved in with my parents for three weeks, while baiting my entire house with mousetraps and rat bait. I have always kept a cat ever since.

When I was a kid, my father was clearing out a yellow jacket nest with burning newspaper. The fuckers flew out and stung me. I have been scared of flying insects since. I also hate snakes. When I go fishing, I carry a shotgun with me. If I see a snake, I shoot first and ask questions later.

OK, this is going to sound off the wall considering that I am a pilot but I am ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED OF FLYING! Seriously, unlesss I am in the cockpit I am an absolute wreck. I cannot fly sober! I am a flight attendants worst nightmare... One once asked me to shut up when I was commenting to my girlfriend that the safetybriefing really didnt matter cause she would never get the mask on in time because at our planned cruising altitude she only had maybe 5 seconds of useful consciousness before she passed out, and how she wouldnt be able to find the mask anyway because there would be a loud bang and then the entire cabin would chill instantly to 30 below zero and she wouldnt be able to see anything anyway because dense fog would form and there would be an instant white out, and swirling debris and a deafening roar and a 400 mph wind that would make her feel like her face was being sandblasted by ice crystals etc... A classic example of "knowing too much truth" LOL. (I go through an explosive decompression with students once to twice a month in an altitude chamber) Put me in a pilots seat, or even a cockpit jumpseat and Im happy as a clam - put me in a passenger seat and I need to be medicated or intoxicated. Interestingly, Im also afraid of heights - but in a weird way. I will skydive, parasail, rappell into a cave / off a cliff or building , fly helicopters with the doors off etc. However, you will NOT get me up on a ladder to clean the gutters on my single story ranch house!

Bridges. Especially really tall ones or really long ones. Also clowns. I hate those little buggers.

Centipedes. Snakes, spiders, and other crawlies are viewed with suspicion, but centipedes have me up on the chair, yelling for someone to kill it. Tooo many fricking legs, thanks... I mean... WTF IS THIS?! And THIS!! Ugh... hate!

My phobia is driving in big cities with lots of bridges and on/off ramps and soft turns.

Needles! I don't even have pierced ears. I am dreading the moment when my Dom asks me to do something crazy like get a tattoo or a piercing! Yikes! Glad he doesn't read these discussions. At least, I think he doesn't. (Keeping my fingers crossed)

Papyrophobia - Fear of paper. I have a severe multisensorial aversion to specific types of paper.

I have a serious problem with needles (just ask Master what a bad patient I am). Also, I don't do well in crowds (especially being up high looking down into stadium- type crowds.) I blame this one on a combination of bad drugs and big rock concerts in the early 80's. I actually had a panic attack at my son's HS graduation last month (large venue, poor crowd control). Master had to talk me down. Thank god He is so level headed and patient. I only missed the beginning of the ceremony.

Autophobia - Fear of being alone. 37+ yrs of being alone...can do this to you. some say i am a phobia since i scare most of society. no cant scare people online...real life hell yes...hence the alone part. Cynophobia - Fear of dogs. being attacked by my familys own pet dog in childhood with my whole back all scratched up by the dog...has caused this. scars are still there on my back. Insectophobia - Fear of insects. they're gross...bed bugs are the worst. Pteromerhanophobia - Fear of flying. greyhound is better....takes much longer but much safer...not likely to get hijacked by terrorists.

when i was little, i had a snake phobia...my sister discovered this & used it to her advantage, so i trained myself not to be afraid of them...now i think they're kinda cool... 25 years ago, i was run over by a car while riding my motorcycle...as time went on after that, i became more & more phobic of more & more things, until i was pretty much agoraphobic...not willing to allow fears to rule my life, i went to a therapist who used hypnosis to cure me...i still occasionally have panic attacks, most recently involving showers--what's that one called?--but his evilness has come up with a plan to do away with that one & so far it's working...YAY!!! oh, yeah...i've scared of the evil Sir Max, but turns out i have every reason to be...lol
