I remember Garbage Pail Kids and Pop Rocks.
I remember when gas was only $1 something a gallon!
I remember dancing to "Wild Thing" at high school dances.
I remember when Cabbage Patch Kids were the big thing!

it was a dime in my teenage years also. i was an on and off again runaway teenager. i have always been industrious with a touch of entrepreneur. i made a good living as a panhandler...my "come on" was "would you mind sparing a dime so that i may call my Father". it worked well on men my Father's age.. they thought i was a good girl and i got my smokes, food, and once a month a box of tampoons.
this would not work in todays economy.

. . . when you had to be careful which train you got on in Germany (if you, like i, spoke no German) because you might end up behind the iron curtain with no visa

. . . when basketball shorts were Short, and pants way up on yr waist

I remember the first time I went out on a date and the boy took me directly to a motel room. No dinner, no movie ....yeesh! I pulled out a DIME and said, "Ok, I'll call my daddy, if he says it is ok - I'll do it." So yes, I remember when payphones were a dime! (smooches everhope and molests her. Hi ladybug.)
