i remember 1979 tube tops. i wanted one sooooo bad. but with being 14 and having 36C's my dad took one look at me and didnt even have to say the word no. i was so mad!
but now i know no way would i allow my girls to wear anything like that .
i remember my teen brother's breakdancing on cut cardboard boxes laid out on the sidewalks of Brooklyn.

I donated 10 inches to them last summer, when I move to Austin I will be donating a whole bunch again.

Remember when everyone wore Dr Scholls wooden clogs?
One almost killed me when I was very little, clonked me on top of my head and cracked my skull. I still have a small dent!

they are a GREAT group (they got my hair when i went short....it went to make a wig for a child with cancer) but you have to make sure the salon participates with them as it is the salon that sends the hair to them. Plus..it has to be a certain length (i want to say 8 inches).

I remember being the best at the hula hoop. : ) The first two songs I remember from the radio were Downtown and Georgie Girl, and you had to wait until the tube warmed up before you could hear them.

I remember when Jellies shoes and slap bracelets were the biggest thing in school
I remember those brightly colored plastic charm necklaces that everyone had to have if you were cool
And I remember layering the colors of your socks, over the ankles of your jeans, to cordinate with your outfit.

I remember when the TV broke down the repair man came out with the whole big case of tubes and wires
I remember when the first Mall was built in our town
I remember Woolworth, Kresgee's and Neisners 5 and 10 stores
I remember a time when the front door was not locked and feeling safe.

My mom actualy supported that dress becasue it was girly and she was shocked I would dress that way. It lasted me a week and then I went back to my black jeans and black tee shirts.

I remember when there were no metal detectors in schools, and when all they would have picked up was out lunch boxes anyway

I remember metal lunch boxes with coordinating thermoses of our favorite TV shows

Okay more modern memory from my youngin self.....I remember when they had to ban tamagotchi in school cause we all wanted to feed our moster in class.

I remember when they banned bud earphones in school becasue it was so easy to thread them up your shirt sleeve and put one in your ear to listen to your music or sports during class.
