Status: offline 		 I was listening to Fox news the other night, and apparently one of Mr Obamas' campaign promises is  a healthcare program for illegal aliens.

Now, i am all for health care for illegals - but there are Americans who don't go to the doctor because they don't have a health care program. They wait until their symptoms are so bad that they can't live with them any longer before doing something about them.   And i am not talking about people on welfare - i am talking about the working who can't afford health care insurance.

I hope Mr Obama will remember these people who pay taxes before he gets too carried away with the illegals.  Or maybe he has addressed the uninsured and Fox didn't share that titbit.

any thoughts, any gripes, any thing that strikes you as incongruous?

Status: offline 		we Could have good healthcare and better schools if the lousy fucking politicians would get off their cheese filled asses and start taxing the billions that get WIRED out of the country every year by the illegals. that's right.... it's time to take on the banks and all those fucked up little places that wire (launder) money out of the country. 30% tax on $75 and over with a 2 wire limit daily - per person..... now GO SCREAM ABOUT IT !

Status: offline 		I still think we need a national id card. Backed up with a verified retinal/thumbprint scan. And have to show it for any non cash transaction.

That would pretty much kill illegals dead.

People tend to forget that the Presidency is the "executive" branch of gov't, not the legislative.

The President cannot change or make domestic policies, that's the job of Congress.

Status: offline 		I don't see how a country who claims to be so 'humanitarian' on any level can treat their own citizens so healthcare poorly, let alone illegal aliens.

How about someone there who revamps the entire heathcare system...instead of adding more burden upon the lack of care as is.

Doing so will reduce the anger and frustration of the taxpayer to be more sensitive to the needs of those that run here in attempt to thrive.

Incongruous?   Yeah... the lack of a link, and that I can't find any mention of Obama saying that he supported giving health care to illegal immigrants, while leaving out "these people who pay taxes".

What a joke this becoming. We are racing towards socialism....

I wonder if there are any other countries out there whose people arnt so damn stupid I can move to an have a decent life where the government isnt there to hold my hand.

I would be happy to find a country where people are forced to learn history 101 before opening there mouths. Are you “American Indian”? No? Then shut the fuck up because it’s obvious you have no idea what your talking about.

Perfect example.. if a word is too big and difficult for you to wrap your mind around then don’t use it. If you want to use it do some research and find out what it fucking means. Have you been to an ER lately? It takes 4 hours to be seen. At my local hospital, a guy died of a heart attack in the waiting room because the hospital was packed and was waiting over two hours even though he had chest pains.

We dont have the doctors, money, or resources to take care of the world.

And spare me the 'nation of immigrants' line. My family came here legally. They built their lives from nothing, learned english, and did it without help from the government. Today, we dont even know how many people we have in this country because we refuse to patrol the border and control who is coming in. It's stupidity.

The whole premise takes COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.

So while you sit there taking a 30 dollar asprin from your 30 hour wait...

think.

Did I do anything in MY lifetime (or did my parents) to provoke any healthcare system? New immigrant or 6th generation..really, what have you DONE personally to induce better care for future generations except sit on your ass??

It didn't happen overnight. It took a lot of forethought from doctors, patients and government administrators.

In the long run, it starts with the aware citizen...the citizen who is

1. aware of basic influx of health and its citizens

2. Citizens who participate in (even if slow) assimilation of immigrants aka diversity by proxy.

3. Citizens who vote to agree to an entire system of healthcare..that includes everyone.

4. The citizen agrees upon this care system until next voting process or complaint.

5. NO privatized health care. (aka no specialized cancer treatments for the rich, no rehab clinics for only the famous). All care is the same for all citizens...despite their income.

6. If you honestly are dying..and need care..our hospitals take ya in and actually CARE for you.

7. You say.."oh oh, I forgot my OHIP -Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan card (or other province) and voila..you have medical care and a room. (I doubt very many illegals here take advantage of that..too risky), it is likely much easier to get citizenship. (and YES, you are American, we WILL find you and bill/sue you later, by law).  But your life would never be in jeopardy in some waiting room because you denied to show ID or insurance). 

8. All private corporation must make available reasonable-cost health care insurance. (or the employee must show another source). 

These are a few of the many reasons why I would never be an American again.

**before you cut this down...think of the thought of diversity and basic citizen rights and care in everyday life...

no smoking in restraunts or public buildings = how many situations saved from full blown health crisis?

diversity...accepted and government promoted diversity of newcomers is encouraged. This creates community, situational outlets and health-giving advice from those who have been here longer to assimmilate the newcomers into becoming productive citizens.

Status: offline 		Edited before posting. You don't want to know what I think of this. I would give healthcare and cure all their ills, not with a scalpel, with a gun.

You fucking want to shoot them all and let your god sort them out ? Well apply that here. I couldn't care less. I am not a taxpayer except in the form of consumption taxes and I do not go to doctors unless I need stitched up. I don't trust them with my body chemistry, like to cure disease. They fall on their face so much they should wear nose guards.

My opinion of health care in this country is such that I would say that if they came here for it, they wasted their time.

I will elaborate some other time, but me and the gov got a deal going. I don't take, and I don't give. I would rather die than take a pill.

And with that sentiment, I'd like to say that I fully agree wtih Owner59 and cyberdude611. Illegals in the USA is sort of a touchy subject for me - and I'm not even an American! *L* I am a legal alien and being here legally, I resent all of those who are here illegally and expect certain "rights". What rights?? If you're here illegally you don't have any rights beyond what any individual of any citizenship would have in this country. I see soooo many illegals in my job and many cannot even speak English. Now I know not all illegals are from Mexcio, but so many are. My co-workers talk about learning Spanish to communicate with them. My feeling is that if illegal Mexicans want to come here, they should learn English - Americans shouldn't have to learn Spanish. A good portion of illegals are pregnant, because it's more difficult to oust the parent of an American who is a minor. And they get their health care taken care of by the tax payer. I know it would have its own set of problems, and it's likely not practical, but one thing that might help stem the tide of illegals - a law where children born in this country to illegal immigrants are not granted U.S. citizenship.

If illegal Mexicans put as much ingenuity into getting their own country on track as they do trying to get into the USA illegally, maybe Mexico might be a country to envy instead of escape.

After all, as Fox said-any place a mexican citizen is, is mexico-right?
