I completely agree about not getting hung up, hell I hope they all are getting their needs met... it might even relieve some of the stress that goes with the job.

If you call "drank beer heavily, and tried drugs enthusiastically..." to "solve whatever it was that was getting you down" simply experimenting, I would love to know what you consider a real addict.  I am not suggesting that he was or is an addict.

Should we discuss other prominant senators, that actually have killed somebody because of their drinking and driving? Chappaquiddick ring any bells?  Nevermind, I forget our current president is the ONLY person that has done wrong, and is currently the acceptable target of scrutiny, judgement, and or smear.

To quote Charlie Rangel "Like it or not, he is our president".

God a fighter pilot who drank heavily? HOLY SHIT! THATS UNHEARD OF! I mean its not like fighter pilots are well known for consuming a particular $12 a bottle 100 proof burbon by the gallon... Its not like theres a bottle of it in every ready room, including on Navy carriers which are dry... Its not like they assemble in O-Clubs and do this:

Seems you are confusing two different time periods and two different enemies.  Were the Vietcong capable of attacking our shores and hitting these highly vulnerable targets?

Yes! They were. I am sure that North Vietnameese Mig Pilots would have been more than welcome in sunny Cuba. (Being Comrades and all) They would have been as welcome as the Russian Mig Pilots including the "Russian Advisors" who flew in North Vietnam. Of course the Cubans themselves could have decided to allie themselves with their communist brothers in North Vietnam at any time...  It was a tense time in history, decapitating the US oil supply would have made it pretty easy for the russian tanks to roll across europe...

However, it doesnt take any communists at all - 19 students with box cutters could have done the trick as we saw in 2001...

By the way, FAR more fighter pilots die in peace than in war. Every time you strap on a military jet you are taking your life in your hands. They crash regularly, come apart for no apparent reason, kill people in training etc... Bush's air national guard time was hardly safe... Military pilots die frequently.

You're trying to pull an argument out of your ass and you know it.  The National Guard during Vietnam was the holy grail for those who didn't want to be in combat.  To be be able to get in the Guard at the time was difficult, the Air Gaurd next to impossible.  I knew people even in the early '90's who waited years for an Air Guard slot.  Yet your hero in the White House was able to waltz into one because daddy and granddaddy pulled political strings.  This was actually later admitted by the Lt. Governer of  Texas, at the time, that he called in favors to get Jr.approved.

I'm not even going to respond to the rest, because I'm getting a cramp in my side from laughing too hard.  Yes, I'm sure we were in real danger of Vietnamese MIG attacks from Cuba.  Tell me the name of the Vietnamese aircraft carrier that was going to transport them there.  I'm sure I know it, it was just on the tip of my tongue a second ago.........................

Now we have the hypothetical appearence of North Vietnamesse Mig pilots...this gets better all the time...I'm going to bite on this one...will these hypothetical Mig pilots be refueling from hypothetical North Vietnameese mid-air tankers or will external fuel tanks help them make the journey fron Southeast Asia to Cuba. Now while this flock of Migs are approaching Cuba might not some actual non reservist type aviators hypothetically interdict this threat to our southern borders....and lastly if the Soviet Union kept a tight leash on Cuba and since we had that little stand-off over missile's and the Kremlin put a figurative muzzle on him why did they allow these hypothetical Migs access to what was a vassel state. Please illuminate the rest of us to this heretofore unheard of threat that Junior so bravely faced

Obama's own words....putting him squarely on both sides.

John Kerry redux.  Pathetic.

Lieberman had some interesting things to say...

Ah, just saw that Obama will not be speaking in front of Brandenburg Gate... at least that attempt at electioneering seems thwarted.
