Yeah I know, my Intruder is reefed off of Miami. Im tempted to go bring her home one piece at a time... I cannot belive they threw the old girl in the Atlantic so sport divers can gawk and fish can fuck...  [:(] Well at least a few 14's have been saved for NASA, certain defense contractors etc... Clinton really fucked things up when he killed the A-12. I dont care what anyone says the F/A-18 is a mediocre fighter with a few hard points for bombs and the USN now has no decent ground attack aircraft. The thing is like one of those "multifunction copier / printer / fax / telephone / coffeepot / electric toothbrush / vibrator" combos... It does everything half assed and nothing truly well...

Besides - who wants to be a FAG? (Thats what they call Hornet pilots "FAG's" for Fighter Attack Guy) LOL[:D]

Yeah, the F/A-18 isnt exactly pickel barrel material. Nor is it all weather material.

What didnt clinton fuck up?

"Defense Secretary Dick Cheney killed the A-12 shortly after the inspector general of the Navy reported that cost overruns on the program had exceeded $1 billion (EN, Dec. 17, 1990). Several Navy officers were forced to retire as a result."

He did it in such a clumsy manner that it's still being litigated.

And it wasn't under Clinton.

Compliments of BNET.

So that is suposed to compare to the long long long laundry list of clintonian fuckups because?

They called the thing the flying dorito. It was billions of dollars over budjet, and it wasnt looking like the aircraft was going to be viable.

My dad brought me a 1970 Ford Pinto.  What a good car that was.  He bought it for me in the 11th grade.  I went to work at Burger King to put gas in the car and have spending money.  I worked from 5pm-8pm for a total of 12 hours each week at $2.10 per hour.
I had plenty of money back then.

Regards, MissSCD

1978 Chevy Chevette... minty green really odd color
named it Yoda [8|] hmmm
push-up-the-hill kinda' car, would not do more then 70 on the fwy.... oh and not to forget 0 to 50 in 3 minutes (on a good day)
i traded it in when i bought my new Honda Civic and i cried because i felt like i had "killed" it. 2 years later i saw it in a parking lot outside a store. i actually drove by, drove back, parked the Honda and walked over to the it cause i didnt belive my eyes. Sure enough it was the same car, my Yoda. Same damage to the dash, to the door, those dents in the back from my heels being in the way lol. People must have thought i was totally crazy, crying girl in the parking lot hugging a beat up old car. But yeah, Yoda will always be with me *sigh.... the memories

1972 brown dodge dart. I LOVED that car! Slant six engine so sweet that even *I* could work on it (and my picture is on the cover of Car Repair for Dummies). I finally had to get rid of it when I started to see daylight under the floorboards.

But thanks to the OP for this thread!!!

I live up here in Woodward Cruise Country and this month is my folks' 50th anniversary. They said they didn't want a party or anything like that so we've been stymied on what to do for them to celebrate. After this thread though, my sister and I put our heads (and our wallets) together and have leased for the day of the cruise a white '56 chevy. (ouchie ouchie ouchie when it comes to the bucks for that!!) We made reservations for them at a nice restaurant along the cruise and we're going to surprise them by pulling into the driveway on the third Saturday in August in the car my dad had when he and my mom started dating. (They only had 3 dates before they were engaged, and got married before the year was out, so this was also the car they had when they married.)

My dad doesn't walk as well as he used to and has a difficult time getting in and out of lower to the ground cars. Thank goodness the '56 chevy is perfect for him.

Thanks for reminding me of my first car memories... AND for being the catalyst behind the perfect 50th anniversary present.

Nope, although it would make for a never-ending thread to start debating that.  My point is that when you go to whack someone, see if they really did it before whacking.

HA! You say it like Clinton never did anything wrong, I am not going to bother putting the whole laundry list of crap he did up here, but man, that is one of the dumber things I have ever had said to me.
