When my SO and I got together most of the Doms in the local scene assumed that she had decided to switch for me. That was their own prejudices showing, not the reality of the situation. Neither of us was looking for a relationship with someone submissive; we were both tired of the fact that we brought that side of other people out and wanted to be involved with someone that didn't fall into that dynamic. We actually met on a vanilla dating site. At one point she decided to see if she scould scare me off with tales from the ProDomme world. She was somewhat surprised when I responded with tales from the scene at Hellfire in the 70's. Overall the realtionship has worked out far better than any other relationship either of us has ever been in.

This is a hard one to explain. First, I want monogamy. I can't separate the dominance from the sex, so no playing with others to get what you can't get at home. There was a time in my life when that would have been great, but I've moved from those feelings. Would she have to submit to me? Well, I would "take" her (remember, I'm a barbarian). I wouldn't mind if she scratched and bit, but I would take her. I would never submit. My first wife thought it would be fun to handcuff me to the bed when I was sleeping so I could experience "the other side". I made her pay to replace the bed and she didn't sit down for some time. It's just not in me. I like strong, intelligent, and interesting women. But, I am not able to fulfill their need to dominate, I don't want them to see anyone else (as I won't) and I will "take" them when and how I like. So, with those rules ... it might work. [:D]

This wouldn't work for me. I'm not interested in play outside of my relationship and I couldn't be happy with someone who didn't submit. I spent too many years trying to make vanilla relationships work. Now that I've figured out why they didn't, there's no point to going back.
