Their are different types of arousal and different types of spankings.

I get aroused from spanking a woman. Some woman get aroused by the pain of spanking, some get aroused solely by the idea of being spanked but dislike the actual pain.

Not me personally (spanking is punishment to me) but I've known people who get all wriggly at the thought. It is like any other fetish, or fantasy or kink or whatever, what will work for one won't necessarily work for another. Each to their own.

Arousal? Hell, I can orgasm from spanking. So yep, it's possible to be aroused by a spanking. Doesn't mean everyone will be, though; if you aren't, you don't have to be.

Spanking is something that has often found it's way into what would otherwise be considered vanilla relationships, even. Heck regular T.V. and movies will even touch on this idea.

But the who and why vary. Not everyone will find it arousing and not everyone who does finds it so for the same reason.

I have found that with talking to my Dom and other friends who are into varying degrees of this lifestyle, some like it because they find it humiliating and humiliation arouses them. Others like the actually pain and it depends on how hard the spanking is. Some it's because it's associated with they way they are playing and so they are aroused in anticipation of what is to come. Others enjoy the feeling of helplessness to stop something that is happening to them. Others because it's considered "naughty" or "bad". Yes, indeed, some are aroused by being spanked, and some orgasm from it. Aside from the reasons already given, there are very practical reasons for both of those reactions: for one thing, the backside is an erogenous zone; besides that, the genitals are very close, so that the force and vibrations from a spanking can and do stimulate those very sensitive areas. Then the question is why doesn't everyone react the same way to that? I'd say that that is where the psychology and the taste or not for pain come in. So, it is a very personal thing, how one reacts.

For me personally, I become VERY aroused when being spanked (also with having my hair pulled, which I'm sure seems very strange to some people.) I think it's the mix of the psychological play and also that my body is very sensitive so I do get physical pleasure as well. In fact it turns me on to an embarrassing degree- I was spanked repeatedly by a Dom tonight and got really turned on.
