Status: offline 		It confuses me that so many Masters say they want a submissive or a switch. Does that mean the Master wants to switch? Does it mean they can be submissive to the Master and switch with someone else? I am just not sure how to take that.

Status: offline 		Switch can refer to a great many things. A switch can be an individual who assumes both roles of a Dominant and a submissive at times to certain individuals, In a situation that you might understand a Master wants a girl who will be submissive to him yet be dominant to other women.

It can also refer to a Master who likes to Bottom so a Switch for them would be submissive to them but Top them in Play.

It can also refer to the the Master who happens also to be a switch and wants someone who will occasional Dom them at predetermined times.

What is difficult to get about that?

Status: offline 		Perhaps it would help if you did some reading. That always helps me learn of the lifestyle.  There are many sites out there to help you understand. Bc i feel you don't. You stated earlier in one post that you know or understand or been in the lifestyle. Dont quote me.... but maybe if you read and come to your own conclusions. i am one to not allow others to do my thinking for me. Unless, i am owned.

The best advice you were given was to ASK them.

No one answer fits everyone in this lifestyle you might want to take note of that. It has helped me tremendously in my journey.

Status: offline 		ok im sure lots of people wont like this but i think its the simple truth. most men cast as wide a net as possible hoping to catch a fish. meaning searching among subs and switches may double the number of women in the pond which makes it easier to find someone.

Status: offline 		Like or dislike.... agree or disagree... your generalization doesn't account for the ones who really DO want a switch for the reasons that I stated above.

Me I am looking for a very specific golden needle in a stack of golden needles, because of this I have a very narrow range, there are people out there who are less specific and they openly search however that doesn't change the fact that some Dom's literally DO want a Switch because it fits the desires they have.

Looking for a switch does not make one a switch, being a Switch makes someone a switch.

For me......... it does not mean I want to submit.   I actually have had looking for sub,switch and Domme on my profile.   In all three cases, I'm not looking to submit to anybody.

See, you are letting orientation (sub,dom,switch) screw with your mind.  Because you are only thinking in terms of D/s alone.    For instance you are over looking thing such a Dom couples.

A switch can submit to somebody, and Domme over somebody else.  

I'm a Male Dom with a slight Maso streak, I enjoy pain not and again.  However I don't want to be treated like I'm a submissive by somebody inflicting pain upon.  In short they are not in control of me or allowed to do What The fuck they want to do to me.  In short they are providing me with a service, much like a back massage.  You have to remember maso people enjoy pain.

Status: offline 		  Part of the reason is because some men want as many possible potentials as they can get-even if that means someone who isn't nessecarily ideally suited to them.

Part of the reason is that many super-manly macho doms can't admit they like switching now and again. I had more than one man talking to me suddenly launch into a deeply submissive fantasy (for themselves), that was considerably more in depth than anything they'd talked about them doing to me. To clarify: I'm not talking about an occasional maso streak, these men had hardcore deliniated subbie fantasies, that, in my eyes, marked them as at least switches, if not subs.

  And part of the reason is that the men actually seek a switch. Undoubtedly there are those that want a switch girl for reasons other than easy sex or not admiting their own switchiness

Status: offline 		Another common reason is that they know they want threesomes and harems and they know females are more likely to go in for that if they feel they are in control of the "other woman"  So making the sub a switch and then telling her to dominate the other woman gets him his fantasy without trouble.

I know MANY Dom's who would disagree with you and then call you ignorant for the very thought.

Topping and Bottoming refer primarily to Sadomasochism. Being Dominant and submissive have little to do with Sadomasochism.

If a Dom orders his sub to Hit him and she does how has the Dom sub dynamic not been met?

Status: offline 		i am going to have to disagree with you as well. i am a submissive. i am a masochistic, but i am also slightly sadistic. i enjoy topping. it comes from a place of service. i either have to have a strong conection with the person that i am topping or the person i am topping under. so in my opinion, and many others that i know, that doesnt qualify me as a switch. there is no change in power or dynamic. it is strictly about the event. still wrapped up in service.

Interesting point of view.

Master/slave also known as M/s usually refers to Leather Folk.

Dominant/submissive also known as D/s uaually refers to the Long or Short Term Relationships that may or may not involve S&M.

Top/bottom usually refers to the Role of the person involved in a S&M Scene the Top being the one inflicting the Pain the Bottom being the one who usually recieves it.

None are Mutually exclusive to one another.

A Dom can be a Dom and Not consider himself a Master because he is not Leather Protocol and he may enjoy receiving a Flogging from time to time Makeing him the Bottom in that session.

Then again you can Consider yourself a Master and a Dom and a Top

Or you can be like me who really isn't a Sadist so I am neither a Bottom or a Top. I am Just a Dom.

I think you are pushing your own views on the BDSM Community. You will find that there are many points of views.
