*is a crocheting zombie now because no one...and I mean NO ONE!!! is on the threads*

Come on...I know its Thursday and has to be a living body out there, even if their lives depend on it..

Phoenixpower -> RE: Needles and Hooks (3/31/2011 11:30:47 AM)

I am here but am rather bored and lethargic today after a stupid talk with KON again...so I am not much in chatty mood today...nor in knitting mood either, despite that time is running low now and I have to get my stuff finished for my nephew....but that will wait until sunday [:)]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (3/31/2011 4:30:37 PM)

Okay...I ordered 4 more pounds of mill end yarn on Ebay (same seller).  I shouldn't do it but the colors are so pretty and I plan to crochet a few shawls from them.

I got my aunt Verla's yarn to go though, a bunch of yarn and something I can give to the goodwill store (I don't want to keep it because it is rather smelly from cigarette smoke, even after staying 3 days in the fresh air).

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/6/2011 4:40:45 PM)

Got the 4 pounds today and they are simply gorgeous!!!!

I am holding myself back from doing shawls right now.  I got this afghan to finish before the 27th.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/10/2011 2:16:30 AM)

I noticed that Ebay has a new item...they  have the revival date date in the summary notice.   I have been getting the package before the first date, but I like the informant date  on the summary.

now, I am waiting for my last of worst cotton so I can work on kitchen kits.

Yes, I will show the kitchen kits when I get lights on here.   It is too early to use the camera.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/11/2011 9:39:55 AM)

YEAAA!!!!

I got the main body of the afghan done last night.

I just need to cross stitch the peace sign on it now.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/11/2011 12:26:02 PM)

One thing about the second offer on ebay...you can be offer at your highest bid when the chicken shit bugger backs out of the contract.

Now, I paid for the yarn (how much yarn does Shahar have in the closet?).

Just now, I got some of the yarn coming in.

Yes, I am working on my kitchen kits.  3 different hot pads, with a center doily to dress up the table.  All of them crocheted with cotton yarn.  It was supposed to be 5 pieces but I have go town on Wednesday for returning items and getting more cotton yarn, not to mention plastic scrubbers.
The hot pads can be used for dishcloths as well.

Okay...which color do I attack...err, I mean select for the next project...

*cross posted from another thread in case any of the other crafty ladies would like to take a look*

I thought of Shahar when I saw an article about children in Uganda who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS. For people who like to knit or crochet, there is a website for making dolls to be given to these children as well as mailing instructions at:

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/13/2011 2:07:11 AM)

Thanks for the link, Red.  I know that there are quite a few charities out there out, pouring their heart and soul to help out in 3rd world countries.  I am blaming the brain for not remembering the agencies.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 8:32:40 AM)

Ok Shahar, here it goes...I split it into two pieces as I don't want it to end up too small in case all of them are too big to upload. So here it goes.

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 9:43:05 AM)

Damn...that does sound like me...I got a bin beside me so I can work on these projects.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 9:50:21 AM)

Lol, I simply kept it on my side as it reminded me of comments on the boards about wool lieing around everywhere etc....just needed some more energy now to get my scanner into gear to scan it in.

I also have 3 bean bags, so might even use at some point one of them for that reason [:)]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 11:17:27 AM)

I am tempted to find some beanbags now...

Phoenixpower -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 11:20:00 AM)

lol [:D]

However, I considered it to really be a good idea [:)]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/15/2011 11:34:01 AM)

I have to put that off until the 2nd.  I have to pay the bills and Lizard's doctor this coming month.

I know I blew the budget with medicines, groceries, yarn and patterns.

I have one more yarn stash to be deliver tomorrow or Monday.

I even got a tackle box to keep everything in..except the 50 gauge knitting needles.  They are for broomstick lace.  I got one of those plastic drawers next to the bed that I have as a side table and keep the cpap machine on.  2 of the drawers have...yep you guess it...more yarn!

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/17/2011 1:00:55 PM)

The trivet that I am working on has to be a bitch to work on.  I had to go back to row 1 several times until I got it to behave properly.

Mom is telling me to go  to bed, but I am that the grand kids will have her tied up in a chair...

Phoenixpower -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/18/2011 11:12:19 AM)

today I picked up a parcel and had no idea what it was...was assuming it might be an item which I had never received from ebay but that rather big box did not fit to that...once I reached home I realised it contained 6 balls of wool and two knitting needles [:)]

Now, I know that I received an information some time ago, that anything I was entitled to from my knitting subscription couldnt be delivered to all their customers, which seems was that now [:)] I didnt mind [:)]

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/18/2011 11:55:19 AM)

I just got 2 shipments of yarn in.  Sugar and cream in the shade of hot purple and  velvet orchid.  I am tempted to get some more from the factory itself.  These color are so rich with color, I wanna crochet them up as shawls.

I feel like that cat, flocking in the laundry until the shake of the Temptations calls him up...

ShaharThorne -> RE: Needles and Hooks (4/20/2011 8:47:46 AM)

*seen crying*

Sugar & cream have stop making Velvet Orchid, but still have Hot Purple.  I love Velvet Orchid because it is so soft and cuddly.

Someone give me some mead to drown my sorrows with (I do have Fuzzy Navel and it is a good sub for the mead).
