LadyPact, quote:
It does bring up an interesting point though. How often do many Dominants say that they would never intentionally harm their subs, including things like asking them break the law? (Whether we agree with it or not, prostitution is still illegal in 49 of the 50 states.) Is a pro domme who is having sex with her clients risking harming them should they get busted? Do people consider that different than telling their sub to steal from a store or putting them in another situation where they could be arrested? Hmmm. I've never quite drawn this parallel, but I understand what you're saying here. My initial thought is that if you're having sex, just as any other time one has sex, you take the risk of the associated consequences. So yes, it's true that a pro domme puts her client at risk in this situation, but it's equally true that the client puts the pro domme at risk. To me, this is a risk that each accepts. A much, much bigger concern (for me) is the law itself. It's illegal to pay and/or charge for sex? This is ridiculous. If two people want to have sex and money is the lubricant, I have no problem with this. Personally, I choose not to charge or pay for sex, however, barring archaic laws, if others want to do this, I see no reason why they shouldn't. Procreation, ah, now that's an entirely different issue. As much as it offends, there are many reasons why procreation is controlled, not the least of which is some countries in the world must carefully manage food and resources. It's great to think we should just "go forth and multiply", but when there is no food for the "multiples" this becomes a significant issue. The hypocrisy here is ironic because often the same humans who have no problem controlling other species numbers get all fired up about controlling their own. Elan.
