Status: offline 		I am wondering if this wasn't the intent of the post to begin with is to stir the pot. I may not agree with the mind fuck that was used in the first scene. But we never did learn if she stayed around or left and never returned. Perhaps that is what feeds his kink is the fear the submissive would feel with that type of mind fuck and having all his buddies slapping him on the back with all the atta boys. I didn't like it when I read it. But there are people out there that enjoy this type of play and who are we to judge them. It may not be our type of kink but it is theirs. They must live with the aftermath not us.

but human nature.. if one feels attacked, USUALLY, the person responds in kind.. and since (as I read it) RS was interested in other peoples mind fuck stories, NOT a critique of a scene someone else did....

frankly, I don't blame him for feeling attacked.

Exactly. What caused the uproar was all of the "test of submission", "sharks vs. guppies", "fantasy role player vs. 'real' BDSM'er" crap. If that's not judgment slinging........

Well, to a degree I agree. However.......he has no reason to feel attacked unless he was the gentleman actually doing the scene.

My feelings are this, if you put something out here you have to know you are going to get feedback. You also have to know that not everyone is going to agree. I, for one, wouldn't have it any other way.

Also, if this was a person that never once critisized anyone else or what they do, perhaps I would give them some leeway on their reaction to opposing points of view. However, I've not seen RS hold back on stating his opinions, or sugar coat them. So, why should anyone walk on eggshells just because it's him?

Is he more emotionally fragile than any of the rest of us?

There is a huge difference John in the scene you described. Two very experienced players in an established relationship. I am fairly certain that you wouldn't endorse such a scene if it was done as a first play date to "test submission" and determine if they could put their money where their mouth was ....or if they were "just a guppy who couldn't swim with the sharks".


I hadn't looked at the notestream when I posted.  You are quite right about mindfucks not being for people who've just met.  Some people love them.  Those are the ones they are for.  They are no more generalizable to the general population than branding scenes.

and these things seem to be overlooked....

Hi GT,

Actually he said "new dates", "new girls" and girls who were "fresh to him".  I held off from posting anything about it at first because, like you, I reserved room for the fact they perhaps they had talked at great length first.  But the message conveyed from his words led the readers to believe they didn't know each other well, and this was the reason for testing these girls to see if they were who they said they were.  If they knew each other well, his friend would likely know them well enough to not have to "test their submission", in my opinion.  That's one of the reasons I took issue with it.  But I also mentioned these new girls may have their own "testing" process to filter out doms that may not fit their ideals.  In my case, such a "test" would filter out someone who did this to me, because to do this on a first play date would not establish the trust I would need to build in him. 

The scenario in the OP doesn't seem to be about submission at all; rather about how well the girl plays.  Since it was described as submission, it doesn't work for me.

You are right.  It was sidetracked, and that sidetrack was perpetuated by RS.  But, as you likely know, any time people put themselves out there by way of sharing an essay, a scene, their "rules of submission/dominance", it practically always stands to be judged and commented on by readers.  I don't recall a time when that hasn't happened.  How the OP responds to that is what I pay attention to.  And in this case, it seems people (myself included) were unimpressed by his response.
