Sport is an activity, often physical, bound by rules, ritual or customs and often but not always competative.
Hunting, trapping and killing is competative... between the hunter and the hunted.
Yoga is full of ritual and customs.

I don;t see it all about men and sport. I see more a bonding between males maybe with sport being a focus, but then that occurs all over the animal kingdom - it's why pubs are such a good way of meeting.
