i agree misst. my last dom was married and when he was dating her she presented as a masochist. They started slow and he said they played pretty hard - not as hard as he would have liked but he felt they could build up to it. Their relationship grew and they got married. One day he took out the toy bag and she broke down in tears.... she hated pain and couldn't deal with it anymore. Fast forward a few years - frustrating ones for him, and they decide to open up their marriage... he and i get together. Perfect together, he and i match in so many ways. We play, explore, grow, experiment - he's so happy to finally be able to express this side he has repressed in order to save his marriage.... she pulls the plug, can't deal with it, thought she could. i am out a complimentary sadist to my masochist and he has to keep struggling with miss deception. Why would anyone pretend to be someone they aren't? i think if i weren't a masochist the last partner i would want to hook up with would be a sadist. So i agree - a good sadist is hard to find... and keep.

I will say that finding a good masochist (guy in particular) who is willing to spill life-blood for me is challenging, at least, it's challenging around here. It's fascinating to me that the offers that I've gotten from people who are willing to play with me on a "when I can" basis are all from Europe or Australia (there are some hard-ass masochists guys in Australia). I don't beat hard, but I can find creative ways of inflicting pain and leaving that glorious coppery scent in the air-- and my Darling can be a truly cruel, heartless bitch as far as the psychological play, and I am happiest when I'm damned near swimming under someone's skin, I have so many pointy things stuck into them. The tang of blood, burned flesh and scorched hair -- Oh, jeeze... see.. who needs SEX when I can have -that-? I will admit that I may have missed some opportunities by not playing casually with my pet kinks -- I'm getting over that. Especially with something my Darling said to me the other night, while I was busy complaining, once again, that I don't have anyone to draw blood on anymore (she is completely unsympathetic, and refused to let me bleed -her- grumble... and told me I'd have to wait and settle for piercing my daughter for her birthday... then my daughter wimped out and decided on a pinna piercing instead of the nice, bloody eyebrows!... but I digress). Anyway... she made the comment that I'm so stuck on not playing casually with blood play -- but that I was a paramedic, midwife, and now do the occasional permanent piercing for strangers, and I have yet to ask someone who was injured for their health certificate before I was elbow-deep in their blood and body fluids (I do ask folks I'm piercing if they have any health issues I should know about -- but I don't ask for a health certificate)... so it was -clearly- my issue! You know what.. she's right. I may just have to re-evaluate that whole issue. Anyway... bleed for me, baby! What... no takers??? CFB

What she said was a certain type of person ... an extreme Sadist in her case ... is what she is looking for, and they are hard to find. Factor into that that she also wants them to be an intelligent, interesting, decent human being, with only the nice kinds of insanity ... and she is really struggling. The OP furnished a couple of examples of what she means by extreme ... she also stated other people would have others ... didn't see a "true" or "real" statement in there.

I didn't mean to suggest that was MissT's intent. What I was suggesting that a discussion like this could easily turn into the whole "real and true" type of discussion. "Oh, you think doing xxx is extreme?? WELL, the other night Fred and I did xxx, now THAT is extreme!!!" aka............ my S&M is more extreme than yours. More valid. More real, more true S&M. All I am doing is giving another point of view on the subject and the discussions I've seen on this particular type of subject lately. I think "extreme" should be determined by those individuals within their specific relationship and not always by the masses as guidelines for individuals. What activities are extreme to one person, may be tame to another. I just would hate to see another shark and guppy thread. I adore MissT and would never personally attack her. I would hope that she knows that. I am just giving another point of view on the topic at hand.
