As the self-proclaimed President of the "itty bitty titty committee" - I must say, the grass is always greener on the other side.
I have three highwaisted skirt outfits and, I swear - I think to myself....if I was only a cup size larger this outfit would go from Hot...to Smoke'n Hot!

But seriously, even if someone chooses not to wear this style outfit in public - add a pair of seamed cuban foot stockings, bold rimmed glasses, and a paddle.  warning: instant drool.  [:D]

Oh god I agree with that last part for sure.  You haaaaave to put your hair up in a twist or something, though, if you're going to do it.  Or lean against desks all day long.

The boobs thing is a matter of finding that balance, too.  It works up to a C, maybe a D, but once you start rocking the double digits like me... failure.  [:(]

And Pyrrs, have I told you lately how much you rock?

I still hold fast to the no-minis-after-35 "myth" for the simple fact that I haven't seen many non-celebrity women over 35 with the body to pull them off.  Hell, nobody UNDER 35 who doesn't have the body for a miniskirt should wear one, either... [:'(]  It's still definitely not appropriate for office wear, though.

But seconding the "clashing colors" thing.  There's a soft rule that every woman should have one pair of red shoes in her wardobe, and you'd be surprised what you can throw those shoes on with and still look put together.

And I hate the sequins trend.  So, so much.  Then again I've only ever used/worn sequins for dance costumes so I suppose my view of the whole thing is a bit skewed.

yes, perhaps skewwed. the point it was making which I would tend to agree with, have the legs for it and keep the lines clean with understated makeup. So if I wear a mini I make sure its simple with clean lines and I dont tend to do maximum skin on both ends. So I keep more coverage up top and less accesories with a mini., Also, the point with seqiun tops is have it underneath with a conservative blazer on top. The sequins thing doesnt work for me but a pop of color with a more neutral outfit is great. If I am doing all black I tend to pop it with a pink purse or redshoes or a pair of cheeta stilettos.

But then again, I do have the legs for it and i am not about to cover up a great asset when it gives my Master so much pleasure. [:D]

I'm just going to quote this because it's very true, and very important, and sadly oftentimes very overlooked.

Y'all better be taking notes.  [:D]

They say there's been an increase of it over the past decade or so... sometimes I wonder if it's only because it wasn't previously diagnosed.

How is he doing?

I failed Fashion 101. The prof took one look at my biker boots, jeans and t-shirt and threw me out of class. <sob>

You Rebel!

Here I am getting the plastic bags down to put away my suede bucks and seersucker suit (Can't wear them after Labor Day ya know.) and you with your wild ways are making a mockery of the Grand Order of Fashion !?!

What's next? Black latex before six? Anarchy I tell you!

Hmmm, would that be 6am or pm??

Sorry, I much prefer leather over latex.

I can tell you, Lushy has it in spade when it comes to dressing!  FABULOUS! [:D]

Aerosmitten -> RE: Ladies...how do you wear your boots this Fall? (8/24/2008 9:03:30 PM)

Hunh...You know, I never really gave "fashion" much thought.  My everyday clothes are pretty much just blue jeans and gig shirts, I do love boots though.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Ladies...how do you wear your boots this Fall? (8/25/2008 11:43:56 AM)

Did anyone else get the September Vogue?  I want to have the lifestyle where I can wear those Jimmy Choo's..........

(yes, they were worthy of many dots)

Really jeans tucked into boots? That dosent look stupid? I've always wanted to do that! I have some kick ass looking boots and its always a shame to have to hide them under jeans....

Im 5'8 105lbs with legs for miles, I have a sort of....gothy/biker girl wardrobe. lots of black tight tank tops and jeans and big leather belts, the boots over the jeans wouldent be too much?

Omg, girl yes. Tight skinny jeans tucked into a cute pair of boots is hot!

buy a pair of tight skinny capri jeans. They reduce the bulk in the boots.

ETA....and a pair of thigh high boots folded down to just above the knee is an interesting look that will get you a few interesting looks.

servantnj -> RE: Ladies...how do you wear your boots this Fall? (8/25/2008 10:09:17 PM)

I noticed a pair that is definately on my must buy for someone list. Thigh high open toe stilleto heel boots. Deadly.

What is the verdict on boots with no heel?  I got these from Steve Madden and love how comfortable they are, but they just look kinda...frumpy. Not having a heel is a nice "change" but also, the way they fit, there's no hug to the ankle or showing of the definition of the calf. For a casual boot is this ok? Or are these just blah?

I like those a lot, with a ruffly or denim skirt.  Strictly casual, though, OR with an industrial top/pants look, you can add some ankle chains or spurs.

Sometimes I miss dressing up!

Low heel boots will be very "in" this season!

Put them with some leggings and a tunic top.
